Review: Menzerna Power Lock Polymer Paint Sealant

I ordered one just like CEE DOG's after he told me were he got it then a cheap one from walmart....got the same readings.

Ha ha...pretty funny, but I can also see it going the other way, you never know...

Thank you! The thermometer/humidity gauge I purchased at a local cigar shop for probably around 20-25$. It records C or F and it records the highest and lowest humidity's and temperatures. In other words if you left it in you garage and then came back a day later you could push one of those 4 buttons and it will tell you what the highest and lowest temp erature and humidity has been as. I keeps track of the high and low until you push the reset button. Do you want me to see if theres a brand name on it? If so I'll get back to you when I get home tonight.
Yes, that would be nice. I was thinking about getting one if I were to start doing reviews. PM it to me if that's easier or whatever. Thanks!

1-3 month Updates:

It's been a little over 3 months but I meant to update this at about 2.5 months.

Here is a picture at 1 month.

Menzerna Power Lock is still going strong.

Here is a picture after just over 3 months

Amazing job with the long term follow up, Thank you Corey for another top notch review.

Nice update. Was the glanz beading at the 2 month mark?

I was using glanz since back before they changed the formula and thought it would at lease be on par with the power lock.

Comprehensive and fun to watch and understand. You ever think about doing this for a living? I've enjoyed all of your reviews, and I think you have a following here.

Thank you Bill!

Great follow up. :props:

Thank you Jim!

1Z was still beading at 2 months but was diminished more than you would expect. At 2 1/2 months it was about as bad as you see in the 3 month picture. Also when I prepped the front of the car for the coatings I applied a wee bit of OPC 3:1 got on the roof. It killed the 1Z quickly but didn't hurt the OPC. On the hood and windshield where I intentionally applied OPC 3:1 the MPL was not stripped completely after 1 treatment.

Thank you very much, I appreciate it. I would love to do it for a living! Im the MAN Unfortunately I don't see how I could make enough money to make it worth leaving my current career.

Thanks for the update Dog, this is one that I have been meaning to ask you about.

The protection of the Powerlock is indeed very impressive after 3 months.

Is this vehicle outside most of the time Corey?

Buddy, this vehicle is outside 24/7. It never has a home inside a garage, parking garage, or any other shelter... Well except when it's under my canopy getting washed or detailed for a bit. Also it sometimes goes more than 2 weeks without wash but 2 weeks is probably the usual.

Fyi: It almost never gets a bath more often than 2 weeks. Bugs, bird bombs, etc are left on it until wash days. But if bugs are bad I try to move up the wash day to that immediate weekend

Corey, i have a question. i know it might be off topic, but, dont those dents on the hood drive you nuts?!?! :poke:

This is really a great test for this product :xyxthumbs:
Given the fact that it never sees shelter and is subjected to the brutal Florida heat and humidity this is holding up very well.

I am looking forward to future durability updates!

Why yes.... yes they do! Actually I think it's just one big dent... When the accident happened I went and had it looked at and they wanted 1400$ The car looked a lot worse at the time. The hood wouldn't close, headlight, etc.

Well, the car isn't worth much more than that so I paid my guy at Tires Plus a few dollars to beat on it enough to replace the headlight and close the hood...

I've thought about going to the dent guy and see what he could do. Maybe he could improve it some more for 100$.

I'll be sure to continue providing them on a monthly basis from here on out. If I forget please remind me.

Correct, from the look of it, im sure that can be fixed easily. Im sure the dent is visible from behind the hood and with a few tapping here and there it will look alot better. Dent drive me insane, i cant stand dents. I am really paranoid about seeing tiny dings on my car. I dont understand how people can drive around with HUGE dents on their cars! Anyways, great review on the MPL! I will sure look into adding it to my collection down the road. :)

Well, I could certainly never tolerate any imperfection on my Skybaby! :)

... but I can live with reality when it comes to most other things. I'll spare you the long story but there is one that explains it...

So the OPC affected the glanz but not the merzerna. How were you able to tell?

OPC 3:1 - It affected them both but it completely destroyed the 1Z while the MPL required further stripping to completely remove it.

Heres a picture from that day (from the OC & CQ Review)

And heres a video: This was after I had used the OPC as shown in the picture above and then sprayed IronX and rinsed it off as well.

SKIP TO ABOUT 15 SECONDS TO SEE THE BLUE CAR. IGNORE THE GREEN CAR SHOWN AT BEGINNING OF VIDEO -NOT RELATED TO MPL.

Corey, have you used WG DPS? If so, how does Menz PL compare in looks?
