Review: Mothers FX Tire Shine

For Gel Tire Shine, do you guys use those foam applicators?

Bigfoot, outstanding write up. We do love reviews on products. To bad the durability was non-existent. Again great write up.

They all come with an applicator, don't they? The AA gel did.Im the MAN

Well, I just got a bottle of the new Meguiars Hot Shine Gel, and it did not came with an applicator. But if you go to any auto parts, you can get a nice foam one for a buck or 2 at the most.

Sparkie, thanks for the kudos! There are more reviews on the way...:)

R1DC2, Before I got to know the true detailing world, I just bought sprayable products since I thought it was easier, boy, was I wrong! Now I will not buy anything thatis not gel-oriented...

Whats wrong with the spray, looks shiny... Or is it really bad because of it slinging? Also are those Meguiar's High Endurance Gels good? Thanks

I have no problems with the spray, it's just a lot easier with the gels since it's a lot easier to work it around the tire without the worry of spraying it over the car if there's a wind...

Joey:cheers:

Oh yeah, forgot about the wind, thats true. But yeah, ill start using gels instead of those aerosol sprays that don't even last long... Thanks ;)

Do you know any good ones i should be looking into...?

I'm in the process of testing some to determine what last longer and gives the cleanest shine. I just got the new Meguiars Hot Shine Tire Gel, so I'll be testing that one soon. Meguiars Endurance Gel is the best of what I've heard of OTC with a very close competitor behind: Armor All Extreme Tire Gel. Justin has nice kudos about it and gives a nice shine under what I see on his pics. Boutique products I don't know much, but you are heading to the right place!

UPDATE!!!

Ok, guys and gals, sorry to bring this old thread up, but I need to make an update... I actually tried another approach this weekend, since I had some laying around and wanted to use it to get it away. Well, the way I did it this time was sparying it, let it sit for like 15-20 minutes, and then wiping the residue away with an applicator. Boy, this stuff changed my way of thinking! Here are some pics I took of it on my wife's car. Hope you enjoy!
