Review: Mothers Wheel Cleaning Brush
A good wheel cleaning brush makes cleaning your wheels faster with better results. Lets take a look at the Mothers Wheel Brush.
There's a rubber bumper surrounding the head of the brush to prevent scratching or damaging your wheels.
The handle has raised round dimples which makes gripping it a lot easier when the handle gets wet. This works really well.
The bristles are 2" long providing plenty of length to reach all the inner portions of any wheel design.
The bristles are also flagged at the end to make them more gentle to delicate wheel surfaces while also improving cleaning ability for uneven or textured surfaces.
The handle is 6" long making it perfect for giving you good control over the bristles without tiring your arm muscles and also providing plenty of reach.
There's a hole in the end of the handle so you can hang it on a peg or nail after use to drip dry.
Now let's take a look at this brush in action...
First I wet the wheel to rinse off any loose dirt, road grime or brake dust...
Next I spray on some wheel cleaner, in this case I'm using Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner which not only does a great job of cleaning wheels but also dissolves iron particles...
Spraying Uber Wheel Cleaner over entire face of wheel...
While there's no iron particles on the face of this wheel, (that's a good thing), you can see how the product works as it reacts with the steel around the lug nuts...
If there had been any iron particles embedded in the paint used to seal these wheels you would have seen the bleeding effect.
Now work the brush over all the different sections of the wheel...
After using the Mothers Wheel Brush to clean the face of the wheel I then used a Daytona Speedmaster Wheel Brush to get behind the spokes and the barrel of the back of the wheel.
After thoroughly brushing the front and back it's time for a strong blast of water to rinse off all the grime...
This is a black microfiber towel for drying wheels and tires, the big idea is because it's black it won't show black stains common from wiping tires but more importantly it's a visual reminder to you to only use your black microfiber towels on wheels and tires and not your car's paint.
And there you go... a spotlessly clean wheel and tires.
