Finally got a chance to try and review the XMT shampoo that I won a few weeks ago, this weekend was awesome weather, 50;s-60s, now its 19 degrees outside!
I would consider myself to be a bit of a connoisseur of shampoos, I have quite a few and have tried a lot of others. Pinnacle and OPT are missing from this photo below, all of which I would consider good shampoos, I like all of them for different reasons.
I was excited to try out the new improved XMT shampoo.
Dug out my regular wash items and filled my bucket with 3 gallons of water.
Grabbed my shampoo and proceeded to read the directions.
Hmmm.....add 1-2 ounces, I hate it when it says that, Im pretty sure all AG shampoos say that as well. Also no mention of how many gallons to use. Now I have learned to assume that you add the higher ratio if you have hard water, at least that is my understand, but I bet most average consumers dont know that. I dont have hard water but I used 2 oz during this review, and about 3.5-4 gallons
Added to the bucket, cool retro chartreuse color!
Stirred with my arm and the grit guard.
Then blast with the hose!
My truck was fairly dirty, several hundered miles traveled over the holidays through rain, sleet and snow. One nice this about white is I really didnt notice how filthy my truck was until I bumped into unloading Christmas packages!
All clean
Pros
During the wash this soap removed the grime with ease, even on the lower panels where there was some build up where other product would require a little extra rubbing, XMT removed in 1 or 2 passes.
Lubricity was great
Smell is citrus
Again cleaned really well!
No noticed decreasing of LSP, that happens to be Ultima PGP, 2 coats
Cons
Directions, how much water do I add?
Price~@ 9.99 a bottle for 12 oz you get 6 washes using 2oz to 3-4 gallon, that 1.67 per wash. Ill probably wait until it goes on BOGO to pick up a few bottles.
Cause water to sheet off, Im not a fan of this in soaps as I always thing for a second that its stripping my protection.
Other notables.
It didnt seem to add a ton of gloss, this really doesnt matter to me as I was planning on applying a spray wax afterwards anyway, just thought I would note it.
Overall, this is a great shampoo, I will pick it up when I have a chance. The new XMT shampoo has earned a place on my shelf with the other above!
I welcome feedback on this review, good and bad!
rops:
Hopefully this helps someone trying to decided if this product is for them as many others on here have done for me with their reviews of some great products.
