Review of Blackfire sealant and CG Blacklight

sportscarhiatus- as has been said your Mustang looks spectacular. The wetness and depth are off the charts.

I too really like Blacklight and HV7...I use them under and over sealants and under wax. I have not had any dusting with either the older or new version of BFWD, but I do like the look of Blacklight a little more.

Really enjoyed the photos.

So, just to double check. I just applied Wolgang duo & WGDGPS. Would I benefit from applying Blacklight now? I was going to add some Fusion over the WGDGPS, should I put the blacklight on then Fusion.

Thanks,
Larry

Blacklight has some cleaners, which might strip or degrade your WGDGPS. Ideally you'd use it under WGDGPS, not over it.

^ this... good thought.

For me, I reapply every weekend or everyother anyways... I don't mind leaving a glaze as my LSP.... it never gets rained on. besides, application is therapy :)

This Mustang 5.0 is amazing! keep up the great work.

Thanks. Mustang is awesome. :xyxthumbs:

Thanks Bobby, Thanks LJSNY...

I know the secret is all in the prep work, but it is nice to be able to find/use an LSP or LSP's that can give that extra little bit of pop or wetness. I love trying new LSPs, even if they only account for maybe 5% of the overall look (95% of the look is prep, let's say).

I love the BL + Pete's 53 Combo, V7 to finish it off! I used it on my motorcycle and the look is amazing.

I also used BL solo on my 1997 Civic after clay, on a white LC pad. It turned out OK, but the paint iss severely neglected. It will take some real correction, then I'll go BL as the LSP.

It's black paint, it shows EVERYTHING, and has some issues from the previous owner that I need to correct.

Other than the obvious that your Mustang is amazing, I just wanted to comment on this quote. I'm starting to look at this option as well because I don't want to polish very often. I feel an initial correction and a final correction (if trading/selling) will be enough, with a glaze in between for a daily driver. With paint being sprayed thinner at the factory we need to save as much as possible. This is based on not using a coating such as Opti-Coat/Guard that adds measurable thickness.

I agree Richard. I am at the point with the Porsche that I am not doing any additional correction work in an effort to save my clear. I may have a swirl here and there but I can live with it. I now use the Blackfire on a black pad when I want to get a little bit of bite. I consistently top with V7. I absolutely love this combo.

I just cringed thinking about if you ever take your car to a shop for maintenance or repair. The tiniest finger print would be noticeable.

(This is true for MANY other members, but the thought just popped into my head. :) )

I did not see any marks at all on the Porsche, only blaring sun! In a couple weeks I plan to do some Spring cleaning on the Regal and will do the Blacklight/V7 combo. I used Glossworkz Glaze on it a while back and couldn't believe the depth and how much the flake in the paint jumped, I'm really hoping Blacklight delivers the same. If not then I will continue with Glossworkz Glaze and 50/50 combo.

Silver is easy! I plan on testing out the sample you sent me this weekend on my black Charger. Very excited to give it a whirl.

I meant to say Blacklight in my post above although I like me some Blackfire as well.
