Review: Ultima Waterless Wash Plus

I just found this thread since it's been "re-activated' from its 2010 birth, haha! I know it's for good reason this thread just won't die, because I have been using Ultima's Waterless Wash+ (I bought five of the premade bottles, but will always buy the concentrate in the future) for a long time now, and it's easily one of my Top-5 all time detailing products - period.

LOVE the product, and it's ironic the original post/reviewer mentioned he liked using it while drying with some water still left on the surface, because that's the primary purpose I use it for... drying immediately after a good hand wash. It removes the chance for water spots forming, and really adds a noticeable undeniable slickness and clean smooth surface ready to be waxed if need be!

AWESOME product, and something I'm happy I found and have in my arsenal as business grows and prospers :)
 
Damn, just ordered a 32 oz of ONR. Will have to try this out when it runs out.
 
I've been impressed with how well UWWP works on removing bugs splatter from my vehicles. I spray it on and let it sit for about a minute and the bug remains come right off with a quick wipe.

I use it to maintain my vehicles between washes, and it works great. It leaves a nice shine and gloss.

Very impressive product.

spardavr4 - I use ONR as my rinseless wash, and I've found ONR and UWWP to complement one another very well.

With water restrictions in my area nearly every summer and with the local drought having become more severe over the last couple of years, ONR and UWWP are my go to products for maintaining clean vehicles when water restrictions are in effect.

Not sure how much of an impact i had, but below is an excerpt of the email i had wrote to Lynn Matthews (The Perfect Shine) regarding the beta test of this product:

"So I will summarize my experience with the new Ultima Waterless Wash spray: I Like It. I like it a lot.

I would only change one aspect of the formula - to make it a thicker consistency. I had a lot of the product run down the vertical panels of my car - granted, the LSP sealant that I had on the vehicle did not help matters much, but if it was a bit thicker to cling onto the panels, it may perform better.

Steps performed:

Step one: Got car a little dirty - not soiled, just dirty from a few days of driving around after a wash.

Step two: Applied product liberally over a panel. In this first case, the front driver's side quarter panel. Let the product dwell for a bit, then used a plush microfiber, folded into quarters, and used the first side to wipe the product off the panel. I wiped the product off in the same direction, careful not to mar the paint with rough motions.

Step three: Used a clean side of the microfiber to buff any residue left from the Waterless Wash.

Repeat for other panels.

It was a very easy on, easy off product. I found that letting the product dwell for a bit helped break down some of the dust/dirt on the panel. I also found it easier to have a second plush microfiber to assist in buffing any leftover residue, letting the first one deal with the initial removal of the soil.

I had mentioned in an earlier email to you that I thought, from brief use, that it seemed a lot like the Quick Detail Spray. I was not even close in that assumption. It performed better than my first impressions.. I did a side-by-side product comparison on the hood of the vehicle. The QD side did not remove the dirt as effectively (surprise), and it took a lot more effort to produce a clean panel - I stopped after a few tries to not mar the hood finish, and finished up with WW.

I am pleased with the finish that it left on the car as well. I can definitely tell that there is some added protection from using the Waterless Wash - and that is important. I've seen and used other WW products that do not enhance the existing protection on the vehicle.

Overall, I would rate this product 8 out of 10 for ease of use (due to the thin consistency), and a 9 out of 10 for results.

I appreciate the opportunity to test this product, and I will look further to any future opportunities for product testing."

Not as detailed or thorough as Corey's :props:, but it worked for the beta test.
 
Cool story Becciasm, only a couple short years ago we didn't have one of the most versatile products in our stashes.
 
I tried some Opti-Clean,and I really love the product. It works very well IMO. This morning I wiped my wife's car down with OC after an overnight rain. I was almost out of OPC so I added some water to the bottle. I had no trouble cleaning up all the dirty water spots,and the OPC left a very nice shine and a very slick surface! It was able to take care of some pretty tough grease the other night also,and it works great on bugs.

I bought some Ultima Waterless Wash on my last order. I can't wait to give it a shot! If it's better than Opti-Clean then I know it's awesome!

That is sooooo cool!!! Nice find :gidiup: some of your points hold true to today's final version.

Allowing it to dwell on the front of a car dissolves the bugs incredibly well for a product that's so safe.

Using a second towel for final buff after removing soils is also part of my technique! Very cool and thanks for letting the rest enjoy your history and experience with the beta far before the rest of us saw it. :dblthumb2:

Just tried UWW+ this weekend on my CC. I had fun and the product lived up to the expectations Corey set in this review. Thanks!
 
Now with the warm weather here, I keep a spray bottle of Ultima Waterless Wash Plus+ and towels in the trunk for those unexpected bird droppings and other forms of fallout that find their way to the car.

Thanks to this thread I've been using UWW+ to maintain my interior clean (and exterior) but I'm having my windows tinted and I was wondering if UWW+ is safe on tint.

I think it depends on whether or not the product contains ammonia - which may not be good for the tinting.

Stoner's Invisible Glass works very well and is safe on tint.
 
+1 on Stoners.

Meguiars Glass Cleaner is also very good and *I believe* ammonia free and safe for tinted windows. Mine are not tinted, so this has not been a concern.

I'm willing to bet 100$ it's safe but your window tints are worth more than that so certainly best to hear direct from the manufacturer. Have you already contacted them? If not I'd be happy to save you the trouble and email Rick. Let me know :cheers:

By the way, I Use Plexus on my interior window tints using a indigo mf Terry weave towel (no linting) which can be an issue with plexus if you use any towel prone to linting.

On tinted windows I use hot water and waffle weaves. I find that if I keep up with the interior windows water is all that is needed.

x2 on waffle weave glass towels. It's the worst when you finish a wash only to get in the car and realize there are lint deposits all over the windows.
