Wolfgang Über Wheel Cleaner is a relatively new addition to the Wolfgang line.

Wolfgang Über Wheel Cleaner is non-acid and pH neutral and yet is powerful enough to melt away brake dust with ease. Traditionally, acid was used to break the bond between metallic brake dust particles and your wheel’s finish.

While acid works well it is harsh and damaging to most wheel finishes. Wolfgang Über Wheel Cleaner uses new advanced chemistry that dissolves brake dust and oily road grime off your wheels so well that in most cases minimal agitation is all that’s required.

Wolfgang Über Wheel Cleaner
is safe for all wheels including, chrome, aluminum, clear coated, anodized, billet, and painted wheels. It’s even safe for painted and chrome wheel covers!

Getting started

Wolfgang Über Wheel Cleaner
is an easy to use spray. The design of the spray nozzle allows the user to spray on a nice foamy layer of product on the surface of the wheel and deeper on the barrel area itself.

Even though my initial reaction was to immediately scrub the wheel with my Daytona Wheel Brush, I waited the 3 to 5 minutes recommended on the product giving it time to work.

Wolfgang Über Wheel Cleaner appeared to be performing exactly as described. If you look closely you'll also noticed the color changing indicating that it was at work attacking the brake dust and particles turning the familiar purple!

:props:

Ok, the 5 minutes are up and out comes the Daytona Wheel Brush. Scrubbing was easy and I like the way the product foamed allowing the grime and debris to be easily rinsed revealing a gorgeously clean wheel...

Pros:

  1. Works very well
  2. Easy to use
  3. Turns color showing it's working
  4. Easy on the nose
  5. Rinses clean
Cons:

Somewhat pricey...

Wolfgang is a premium product line and what I like about them is they're constantly improving existing formulations and adding new products to raise the detailing bar.

I hope you enjoy the review....:props:

Thanks guys, I appreciate the complements! :props:

Bobby,

I've read some comments here on the Forum about similar wheel cleaners (Sonax, and Iron-X come to mind) putting a green tinge on wheel weights. Did you notice anything like this with the Wolfgang?

Thanks for the review :xyxthumbs:

Hi Chuck,

I remember seeing those posts.

The wheel weights are plainly visible in the barrel area and I did not see any discoloration of the lead at all. I think the CarPro IronX might be a bit stronger causing it to react with the lead but nothing I could see from this product at all...

Thanks for the great review Bobby. I just recieved this product and want to do a mini review myself on my 07 BMW with the dusty brake pads.

Awesome review, I will have a few ounces of this product shortly... and when I do, I imagine another thrifty vs fifty will be coming...

Thanks again for the great review!

Great review. I've used this product several times now and agree with you spot-on. The only drawback to me is price. I wish they put that scent in the cockpit trim sealant....

Nice review. It looks like you stained the wood wheel lifts!

hyundai elantra?

Yes, it's a 2013 Hyundai Elantra Limited.....

Nice review. It looks like you stained the wood wheel lifts!

Hey Al,

Yes I did! I had some left over exterior Olympic stain so I thought I'd put it to use and keep mother nature ay bay.....:props:

But they work very well!! :props:

Very nice review Bobby!

Expensive stuff for sure! People drink orange juice all the time and that's acidic. Wheel Brightner is much much more cost effective and has never done me any harm. why all the acid hating? :D Just saying!

Great review Bobby! Can't wait to give this a try. So far I've heard nothing but good about the new Wolfgang additions.
