Review: Zymol Glasur

Since Zymol Glasur Wax contains, among other ingredients, Propolis...

Then...
Is Zymol Glasur Wax really a wax?
Or: Is it a Hybrid-wax; or: a Sealant?

We also know that there since there is no such animal as: Banana "banana-oils"...
Why in the World (except for marketing purposes) would Zymol claim that
there are some in Zymol Glasur Wax (and other Zymol waxes as well)?

Just curious.

And: @~$130.00 a tub...I reeeeaaaallllyyyy would want to get my money's worth.

:)

Bob

I thought all Zymol waxes had no solvents in them and were made of all natural ingredients. Are you telling me that's a bunch of Bull.... If there are solvents in them how the heck can they advise you to apply it on with your bare hands. Is it just marketing at the expense of your health?

I do consider amyl acetate a solvent.

The below information is being provided so you (and possibly others)
may be able to judge accordingly...for yourself.

Zymol Glasur's product description:

What is "Banana Oil":
"Banana Oil" is a liquid ester, C7 H14 O2 (Amyl Acetate)...
a mixture of isomers derived from amyl alcohol, and/or, a solution of cellulose in Pentyl Acetate (or similar solvent)
and having the characteristic odor of bananas.

-Used chiefly as a paint solvent; and, for artificial fruit flavors/odors.

If there are solvents in them how the heck can they advise you to apply it on with your bare hands.
Is it just marketing at the expense of your health?
The total % of amyl acetate in some Zymol products may have been determined
to not be enough to pose a health risk to human-beings.
The MSDS sheets for the products in question may be able to: "tell the tale". :dunno:

Marketing, or not:
I do not apply waxes, or other LSP's, with my bare hands.

:)

So your bashing a product and the company that makes it just because banana oil doesn't come from the banana tree. Im sorry, I didn't know that Zymol was responsible for creating the chemical compounds and makeup of bananas. You cant bash a product that you have never tried :dunno: Don't act like PBMG waxes don't contain (insert substance that you hate). At least Zymol tells you what the product contains. I seriously regret making this thread since every other post in it is from you. I remember you bashing in Swanic's thread too. A substance that you can eat is obviously going to be safe to touch your skin lol.

Providing product information is not bashing a product, or the Company that sells said product...IMHO.

Your attempt at disparaging an AGO forum member does have bashing written all over it, though...IMHO.

I have no idea why you have this attitude. If you read the thread Bob only brought up the marketing aspect of banana oil and then he responded to other posters from there. I don't see any bashing going on. When you write a review of a product people are then going to discuss all aspects of that product. Do you really think we're going to talk about that white wad in the palm of your hand the entire time?

My bad. It's hard to distinguish tone over the Internet and it seemed as through it was written with a snarky tone. I apologize. I was reading it completely wrong.

It's cool to know this forum is made up of actual adults who can rethink their positions. I was impressed with your review and it actually helps me a lot since I'm expecting my order of Glasur and Concours this Friday. I don't know which one I want to try first. Concours is supposed to be a step up but I here so many good things about Glasur.

I still don't know about applying it by hand though. Maybe I'll try a little on the wife first......damn the solvents and all lol!

lets try and stay on topic ... and lets try to give each post the benefit of the doubt. The wax wars often get heated and in the end it often comes down to personal preference.

I really want to see a review on the Concours. I haven't seen any reviews of it in the las 2-3 years and I think I might get it next.
