Reviews missing?

I think a review listing of the products should be on this site, not only does it allow AG shoppers to research the products they're interested in. It also allows the AG store know which products are coming up short allowing them to save money by dropping underperforming products or at least order less of them. Given the gravity of revenues generated by AG from their store (I don't know the numbers but I seen a thread from a guy dropping 10k for products) reviews should be in place for the client and business to work more efficiently.

So is there ever going to be an update or any other response from Auto Geek on this?

I was wondering about this also as I too have been going to Amazon to read reviews and have been just buying from there lately. Hey unbeatable prices and 2 day shipping with Prime! Why not?!

I'm starting to think they pulled the reviews because of lost sales?

I know of a few products that had terrible reviews yet are still available.

As much as I liked reading them, I could never understand why a retail store would permit them, especially if they were on the site that directly sold the product. As much as reviews move one product, they can sink a whole inventory of another.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that can influence a review, and the vast majority of them were not very standardized or merit-based. These types of reviews are only helpful if there are many reviews that give a product a consistent start rating.

Any way, if they're gone, that's the way it is. At this point, I know what I like and for the rest, I can look through the forums...or post.

The question about reviews missing was answered a few weeks ago. They are updating system and reviews will be back up ASAP. Someone else posed the same question and it was answered in a couple hours by AG staff in a diffrent area of site. You would think they would of responded to question here since it's the correct forum for that type of question????????? I think I will just post questions on boats in the auto section for more timely responses. It's kind of embarrassing IMHO

Thanks for being so patient everyone.

The reviews were gone for a couple months because we were hard at work implementing a NEW review system. With as many pages as we have on our site, it took a good amount of time to fine-tune the new system.

Reviews are back up, and the interface is vastly improved. Check it out. :dblthumb2:

I just posted a review for the Tuff Shine kit. But, I can't see the review. I'm guessing it has to be "approved". I'm hoping this doesn't mean only positive reviews will be "approved"???

Yes, my review was quite positive.

The reviews have to be approved to make sure there isn't any foul language, and to make sure it's an actual REVIEW. Posting "this product sucks" or "buy it at auto zone" isn't considered a REVIEW, therefor it will not be approved. If a review is submitted for a tire shine that says "used this on my glass and it left streaks"...well...that's not considered a review either.

In a perfect world, all reviews would be appropriate and subjective, but since there is a big variable involved - the human being - we have to sit down and read every review that is submitted.

Made me laugh when I read this  ...good sense of humor Nick!

Ok thanks. Makes sense. I was just hoping you guys weren't filtering out negative, but appropriate reviews. I know people post all kinds of nonsense on the internet.

The new interface is much better. Thanks Nick and AG!

I know this is old, but I've posted about 8 reviews this summer and not a single one is actually posted to the store. I am respectful with language, fair, honest and generally favorable and the selective filtering of reviews has me a little concerned. Sure you can see all you want to know about a product in the forum, but why not the store? Why can't I access my reviews to see their status "approved, rejected, pending" like I can on amazon and just about any other website? Or at least get an email confirmation.

Today I actually wrote a duplicate review because I forgot I already reviewed a product in July and it just never posted.
