I'm a college student and am going to start detailing cars on the weekend. I will have either some Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus, or 1z Colourtech for wheels that are really dirty. However, I'm looking for a RTU wheel cleaner for wheels that aren't as bad (ie Japanese and American cars). The reason it has to be RTU is because I cannot be in the dorm bathroom diluting chemicals lol! Right now I'm interested in the Mother's Foaming Wheel and Tire Cleaner because it is cost effective and available in a gallon size. I've heard it has great reviews. Also looking at the Griots Garage Green Wheel Cleaner and haven't heard much about it. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I can't see paying $10, $15 or more for a wheel cleaner. This Mother's product has and still serves me well.
Use it with a large Wheel Woolies brush and you have a great combo. I don't like the Daytona Speed brush, kicked mine to the curb. The Wheel Woolies has better overall contact with the wheel surface and is easier on the finish.

I've used Griot's for years and love it enough to buy it by the gallon. Their heavy duty stuff is that much better for really tough cases. Guess I need to branch out and try the highly regarded Sonax cleaner one day, but Griot's has served me well on my European cars (which typically dirty wheels quickest, as you know). The green Griot's cleaner is also very easy on finishes. The matte black wheels on my M3 track car still look new despite all the times they've been completely covered in racing pad dust.
