Revised Flex 3401?

As an electronics tech for the last 10 years this thread interests me.

p= vi? yep. But theres so much more to consider than that.

I would like to know if flex uses DC or AC motors in their units. Anyone know? i cant find any specifics online.

When I read this thread, I thought it was going to confirm what a little birdie had told me which was that the 3401 is being changed and a newer model is coming out prior to the new year. Anyone else hear that? I don't have any information as to what the changes are going to be to it unfortunately.

By the way had to send my Flex in as the gearhead became excessively noisy, they confirmed a fault and swopped me out with a new one as mines was practically new. The new machine now states 230V 1010W 4.6A, no longer 4.1A as the other 1010W.

Sounds like maybe they just had an error on the label, which they corrected?

I find it hard to believe that a polisher renowned for German precision would make a mess of power ratings. The differing power ratings is no coincidence or fault from a label maker. Do you guys honestly think so low of Flex to insinuate they can't even get labels right?

I'm saying they aren't very consistent with their labeling/documentation/etc. which I attribute to sloppiness, different countries having different labeling requirements, new owners, etc., while you attribute it to some technical change.
