I've been polishing a good amount black Honda's lately. This most recent one, I really struggled with finishing micro-marring free with my traditional soft paint polishes(Scholl S40 & HD Polish+). On soft black, I normally finish with a Rupes yellow or B&S white pad with any polish. In this case, I used a Rupes yellow pad. Anyhow, I remembered I had some Rupes Diamond Ultra Fine Polish and wallah....it finished great! No micro-marring! It's a bit hard to remove, but using a quality MF towel, it didn't seem to haze the paint. Great finishing(2nd step) polish!

The picture is after using Gtecniq Panel Wipe which removes polishing oils that could fill.

Excellent work, Mark!

I love me some Diamond!

Wow! Looks great!

Thanks for sharing - it's always good to add to the memory bank for something to try for paint that just won't finish well. :props:

Very cool. And nice are those moments you remember you have something, use it, and it works out :)

Thanks, Dan! Excellent finish on this soft paint.

Good to know!

You have some of the most discriminating standards of performance I've ever seen. It must work well to recieve praise from you!

Thanks everyone!

LOL....you are right! I look at finish under bright lighting in every way possible. I make sure I use a strong panel wipe. Rupes Diamond won the battle on this soft black paint. I tried about 5 different finishing polishes on this paint with the same pad(each used their own) to get an accurate comparison.
