Rinseless options.which would you pick and why?

I'm liking the convenience of rinseless washes. I've read and watched tons of links. I have currently only typed the OTC one by turtle wax.

I want to order some but I'd like to hear from people who have tried more than one different ones.
Duragloss, onr, etc.
I'd like to prob order a gallon since it's so much cheaper that way but I don't want to be stuck with a gallon.

Wish they had like 4oz samples of these :-(


This would be just maintenance washes on a pretty clean black car. So something that rarely ever streaks would be ideal

I like megs express wash. Its pretty slick compared to other ones ive tried. I've used these and gary deans. Express wash won't streak if done in the shade.
 
Although I still have some ONR and plenty of UWW+ conc., I have a gal. of D114 on the way.
 
Thanks. I have not even read much about the megs d114.

Now to decide if I want wax mixed in like DG or the wax less megs one. Sounds like megs doesn't streak :-)

Now after looking at megs brand on AG I see several of their products I'd like to try
 
I've been using meguiars D115 for over a year now and I love it it gives a great amount of cleaning power and it leaves a shine and slickness afterwords. Was recommended to me by my professional detailer who posts on this forum. I buy it from auto geek and it lasts a while and I use a microfiber cloth to take it off and a separate microfiber cloth to buff. I only make one pass with the cloth when I'm removing it and then I fold it into fours to remove the product and dirt. I do give it a good application with a lot of product

I wouldn't try anything else it's very easy to apply and take off leaves a great shine and I mix it at 4 to 1 ratio

I think this product doesn't get enough good reviews because people haven't tried it but I wouldn't use anything else and I haven't used it on my black Lexus and now I use it on my ultra white Lexus

Both ONR and ONRWW come in 8oz sizes. You can get a 2oz sample of the Blackfire rinseless for free with your $95 order, or buy it for $7. The DG wash comes in a 16oz bottle for $11 here. For the Meg's products that only come in gallons, if you search carefully for solutions you can find places that sell quarts of those products.

As far as the performance, the Optimum rinseless products stain the wash media. They say this is because of the superior emulsification of the dirt allows it to penetrate deep into the fibers and become trapped, and that whatever it is that causes the stain is not dangerous to your paint.

That may be, but when your media turns permanently black, it's hard to tell how much dirt is coming off the car when you are washing, which is fairly critical as far as knowing when to rinse your media. Part of my brain wants to believe that this characteristic means that ONR works/cleans better...the other part of my brain says the other products seem to work as well.

The DG rinseless and the Meg's don't stain the media at all. I haven't used the Blackfire. Oh, and I haven't experienced any more streaking with the DG or ONRWW vs. ones without "wax".

I don't understand this 'permanent staining' issue people have. Are they saying that their towels/pad/mitt/sponge are stained permanently even after they are washed...? Or are they saying it stays stained throughout the wash process when using a 2BM as their rinse less routine and THEN they wash the products used...?

I use the multiple towel/pad/mitt method and have never seen permanent staining on any of them--from using both ONRs and a variety of others. (Although I know ONR is the main one associated with this issue)

I guess I'm confused about this issue people seem to have. Anyone?
 
Yes, it's permanent, only the ONR's do it, it's been discussed many times and poo-poo'd by Optimum. Sure, they come a bit cleaner after you launder them.

I'm glad you don't have the problem, but don't quote me and then refer to me as "they", I'm right here. FWIW--I typically use bone type wash media which has a different type of MF than most towels, although my friend Jr. uses the MF chenille and that seems to stain, also. QEW used to do this, as well, but the DG and D114 don't do it at all.

No need to be so sensitive--it's just a forum, guy: I was just asking a question regarding staining issues others have. You were the first to bring it up, so I quoted you so people knew what I was referring to. (Whether you answered my question or someone else did...) That's how forums work...

Very interesting: I've never asked before, so now I know what the issue may be if I come across it.

I also now know that we need to be careful when quoting you, so no one gets offended. :laughing:
 
First you need to decide if you want something to add more shine. If you just want clean and rely on LSP for shine and beading get the D114. Ultima has similar performance and is a better deal than Detail juice, pinnacle can streak or haze cause the carnauba, ONR does pretty well but isn't as streak free as d114 and some say ONR with certain LSPs doesn't play well.

Well, for that matter so do almost all of the rinseless washes, even D114. I guess the OTC Turtle Wax requires a little more, but that seems to be offset by the low price you can get it for on promotion.

Yes I know most are around .5 oz./gal. I just bought a gal of D114.
I was just comparing the difference between two brand's rinseless and rinseless w/ a little protection.

Oh, sorry, I missed your point. Yes, that was why I was kind of floored at the D115 dilution, after having used ONRWW and the DG (w/AW). I think I asked about it incredulously in the intro thread here.

D114 for the obvious reason; no artificial shine or additional additives.

UWW+ because its dilution ratio is GREAT and works extremely well and is versatile. It also contains Polycharger.
