Rinseless Wash Media?

Since I started using rinseless washes, I've always just used the GD method but now that I'm taking on customers I'm getting really burned out on washing all the MF towels.

Does the BRS (or other media like a rinseless wash mitt) still clean stubborn spots effectively? Say there's a splotch of bug guts or grime that requires a tad more pressure... Are they still safe then? Do they still release that scum into your bucket well or do any of you ever feel like these forms of media can get caked up with dirt, needing an extensive wash?

LOL...I'm getting burned out on rinsing my wash media. I have tried in the past to like the "wipe once" method, but I didn't...I'm willing to try it again perhaps with some different wash media...I usually am thinking how much faster I could get a wash done without those trips to the rinse bucket...although I'd still have the trips to the discard bucket and the fresh media bucket.

Pretty funny the range of methods and media explored in this thread, everybody has their own nuanced approach.

If it puts it into any kind of perspective, I hand wash ALL of my towels because I only have one washing machine and a white Husky that sheds more than any dog I've ever seen. I'm so afraid to wash my MF towels in the same thing that washes the clothes, towels, and blankets covered in his fur. LOL.
 
Maybe I got a little mixed up, I was looking at a few threads like this, but we've got the MF mitt crowd, the MF towel crowd (split into the long nap/short nap contingents), the sponge crowd, etc.

I'm still looking to see if Brutal Noodle used that 10 x 10 pad he was talking about, I was eyeing it up before I saw this thread.

So guys, I have the AG specific rinseless wash mitt. I have 3. They all are now stained a darker color from multiple washes. Are they still safe to use? I don't see dirt necessarily on the and scrub them out when I see some stubborn stuffo n there with strong degreaser and a brush before it goes in the washing machine, but is it still safe to use with its color change?
 
If it's just discoloration I don't thing it should be an issue. Some medias can alter the color of items like MFs as well. If you notice other characteristics is the mitt change like it absorbs less or does not trap dirt like before then it would be concerning

I have discolored mine, but have always been able to get them whiteish again. I take a bucket and let them dwell in water and microfiber detergent . Let them sit for a bit then agitate and wring by hand. Sometimes I let them sit in the solution overnight, and wash them with microfiber detergent in the washer.

Sincerest apologies for not seeing this sooner. Sorry about that!

The pad in question is indeed made of the very same material as the rinseless mitt, with the exception of the obvious difference in dimension and having a foam (around 1/2 inch thick) in the middle.

Sad to say, I've found it awkward - more so than BRS - which is surprising.

It performs well on flat horizontal surfaces. Vertical, including contours areas are a different story. It can be a little on the heft side when loaded. Great on flats as you let its own weight do all the work. That obviously becomes a little awkward because you'd now have to fight said weight against gravity. As soft as the material is, the sponge center isn't as flexible as one would think, which goes back to the contours I mentioned earlier, not to mention the added thickness gets in the way when trying to work your way around tight spaces like behind door handles.

Personally I think it would have been better with just the wash material by itself, ala using mitt without sticking ones hand inside. Also 10x10 is too big, IMO. 8x8 would have been nicer/easier to manage, particularly working on lower panels.
 
A lot of good responses here. I use a BRS for the lower panels and back of my LR3 - nothing else seems to work as well. It doesn't seem to be scratching, but I rinse it very frequently. Wipe, flip, wipe, rinse. Using it because I got tired of getting debris in my MF towels.

For the other cars I use GD method and a lot of towels. I'm using 350-500 GSM towels on two cars. The Boxster gets 800 GSM medium pile white towels for waterless. These things hold a ton of wash solution and keep their shape when I quarter them. Lower GSM towels work ok - these seem to work better. After using white it's the way to go - very clear how much dirt is being picked up. Really liking the 800 GSM towels for waterless.
