So, you bought Turtle Wax car wash and Home Depot towels and decided to come here to ask how to use it?

It's a crazy world, ain't it?
I tend to believe there are a lot of people on this forum who could make a car look pretty fantastic using nothing but OTC products.
I bouth those same 600 gsm Eurow shag-weave 10-pack towels and they release terror on my paint ..shed like crazy
Oh sure, it's that old thing that good tools can really help people that don't know what they are doing, but people who are experts can get great results with crummy tools...or something like that.
I think Swanic's point goes more to people expecting a bunch of help here when they didn't buy anything here.
Thanks, I took it the wrong way.
Let them find out on their own..
"They'll Be Back"
I thought too of going elsewhere..

Never have had a problem with the Costco MF towels. No scratching, marring or anything. I think a lot of 'hatred' is unfounded.
Now if somebody had a way of proving they are bad I might believe these comments.
+1.^^those towels are good for everything but paint! I'd never touch my paint with them. Invest in quality towels. It's worth it.
Arrogant?
If you buy some nice towels like Cobra 600gsm and a quality rinseless like ONR or Pinnacle it will work fine. Just buy the right stuff and it will work out fine.
It's just a little but frustrating when people ask questions about detailing with supplies from Home Depot, Costco, K-Mart, or wherever. If its worth spending your time doing, it's probably worth doing right.
It's like going to the guy at camera shop where they sell all the high dollar lenses, cameras, and gear and asking how you can take pictures like him with the throw away camera you got from the Dollar Store - Except ONR and decent towels don't cost thousands of dollars. ONR is like 15 bucks and you can get decent towel for like 3 dollars.
There is a reason Costco sells towels for 50¢ a piece. It's because they are cheaply and inconsistently made. I have that same pack of towels. They are fine for tires, your seats, or for whatever else won't scratch.
Most people here have invested the time, energy, and money to get at least some basic decent stuff like towels and carwash from AG before they start calling forum members stuff like "arrogant".
Yeah, I guess I am an a-hole, but I just hate when people are are a super cheap. I mean if this stuff was like thousands - or even hundreds of dollars - maybe I could see trying to find a less costly way of doing it. But c'mon, the tried and proven stuff isn't really expensive to begin with. Once you factor in the dilution ratio, what are you saving by purchasing Turtle Rinseless over ONR - 3 dollars?
Secondly, I did not realize that the discussions that take place on this forum must be of products only sold/purchased by AG. I'm fully aware that this site is AG. I must be mistaken but I have researched many topics here over the years and I thought that there has been plenty of general detailing discussions of all brands and products, even those not carried by AG. If I'm incorrect in this and this is not proper etiqutte here, I will adhere and post accordingly.

Yes arrogant. And your post is riddled with it.
When you knock the cheap stuff without providing any valuable feedback (such as first hand experience or measurable comparisons) its a little harder to swallow. You end up sounding like a person who rides the boutique train because its...well boutique, and puts everyone else down for not following suit.
Like I said, I've read posts where guys give positive feedback using cheap bulk towels with no marring. And I've read other non impressed feedback with over hyped towels. And then vice versa. So what do you do with that information? Me, I say screw it and dive right in and make my own assesments. Can't knock something unless you've tried it. And I'm not a believer that the bigger the price tag the better the product.
Anyways I'm not here to argue about it. I'm just here to gather feedback.
For what its worth I decided to just purchase bulk Megs Supreme Shine towels to try out with my RW. I bought a 3 pk from AG a few weeks ago to use for QD purpose and I really like how they feel compared to my old ones. I have the first gen towels with the satin borders but unfortunately never properly maintained them so their not as affective as they once were. I'll report back with my thoughts when I wash the Cruze this weekend.
Regardless, you need a thick plush nice nap towel for Rinseless washes. Those towels you got are not good for Rinseless washes.
Thanks Cleanmycorolla (Chris?). I'm really not that nice. I was a bit of a jackass going after this dude. Sorry for that. I usually don't go after people that way. For whatever reason, "cheapness" or "perceived cheapness" just annoys me to no end.
It could be because sometimes at my job I end up spending hours making phone calls to insurance companies and physicians because someone won't pay $1.00 for their prescription. I know this is off topic, so anyone can flame me - that's ok. I probably deserve it.
Maybe a dollar or 3 dollars is a big deal to some people and I just don't see it.
