California is in a severe drought so I been turning to using rinseless products as my wash. To be honest....I really missed using the MTM foam lance. I tried both ONR and Ultima but was looking for something better in regards to overall cleaning ability. Recently, a fellow AGO member (281) turned me on to Meguiars D114. He in turned got the recommendation from AGO member (Fly07sti). The versatility of the product is what attracted me so I gave it a try.

When I first mix the D114 solution (1 part D114 to 128 water) in the bucket, I noticed the solution foamed up a bit. This gave me an idea. I made a slightly stronger dilution of D114 and put it in a hand pump foamer. I thought I could pre-soak the car and get a longer dwell time with the foam and take advantage of the cleaning power of D114 fully.

To my surprise, it worked better than I expected. D114 had enough cleaning power to remove several fresh gooey tree saps on the roof as well as being super slick. I also like the fact it leaves nothing behind and with a even stronger dilution....I could use it as a panel wipe.

Best of all....I took care of my foam fixation.:xyxthumbs:

Interesting. Do you think you mixed it strong enough to affect your LSP? If I recall correctly it can be used to help strip wax? Not sure what the dilution is. Thanks for sharing.

My car is coated so the dilution I used would not affect it at all. I believe 1 part product to 11 part distilled water is for stripping wax. There are several members I know of who makes their home brew using D114, IPA, and distilled water as an alternate to the traditional IPA solution panel wipe or even a product such as Eraser.

I'm glad you're liking it Peter. I use it at 1:15 for panel wipe.
