Rinseless Washes - 2022

:xyxthumbs:

I don't know if he was just saying it because Dr. G was there, but one of the TRC guys said it was noticeably slicker and significantly different than the prior version. Guess we'll find out.

That interview with Dr. G was weird lol.

Agreed! It seemed like he would have preferred to be somewhere else.

I think that's just how he is. He seem to act the same in other interviews, he's just a fellow introvert like me :xyxthumbs:

I was wondering that too. But when he was asked about how to clean salt off cars, he directed the question to TRC. Just thought that was odd.

So what was their answer, I'm curious

So tried DIY today. So far not a fan but I’m hoping it was foaming it as a pretreat.

Foam quality was good but didn’t have that super slick feeling of Frothe.

Adam’s foaming waterless was a lot better too but not Frothe level.

To be expected as those are waterless meant to be foamed and DIY is a rinsless that can be foamed.

Dirt was left behind on vehicle but didn’t look suspended like in ONR and Absolute. Looked like dirty water. Again think that was due to foam.

Due to fact it foams up well I think this is more surfactant based than polymer.

Feels a lot like 914 to me which is good because I like 914 a lot.

My feelings are so far that Surfactant base fair better in Gary Dean method and I like polymer based with the sponges. Just my preference so far.

Water before and after

I’m did do a panel ray with no pretreat and felt slickness wise like ONR or 914.

Next week I’ll try head to head with ONR or Absolute.

DiY wiped of easy as any.

Well I was curious and if Crack isn't getting a CHUBBY then NAH!
I still think Absolute is running the show.
I can't justify anymore Rinseless. Though if I was to go out and get a gallon tonight it would be P@S.

McK's N914
DG Fuzion
AMMO FROTH
CAR PRO ECH2O

No user error in my opinion. Not rocket science and your pretty up there when it comes to rinseless science.lol

I feel like DIY is just the new current hype train #♂️

As I don't care care for "moping up" a foaming RW product, I wouldn't even use DIY Detail RW that way, didn't even know it could be used that way

Yeah Ivan was visiting AutoForged and they showed it. Not bad once you get spray pattern down. People complain of f the moping up but if you think about it a pump sprayer has pretty much ch same pattern as foamer.

Your going to get same overspray from pretreat or doing a waterless. You can just see where it went.

We probably need to change the name of the thread from 2022 to 2023.

For those in Australia, DIY products, including their rinse-less, is now available through C.C.Co.

What was your issue with it? The way it foamed? Haven't tried foaming it yet here.

How does it compare to Absolute? Just got a gallon of DIY but I feel like I wanna try out Absolute to but so many product to go through :D

It just didn’t encapsulate the dirt the way absolute and ONR does. Not as slick as absolute.

The other foaming specific waterless products I use are the most lubricious products I’ve used. The foam didn’t remove well with the rinseless sponge.

I’m going to try as a foam and wipe waterless and straight rinseless with non foaming pretreat.

As for absolute it is my favorite so far but going to try that again as well.

Will Absolute foam in former?

I thought the current version of ONR was quite good. This new formulation looks much different per TRC video.

Don’t know. I’ll try and give it a shot. There’s a video where Bob from Mckee’s foams 914 for a pretreat. With that video and one showing Yvan foaming DiY in a video is why I tried DiY as a foam prewash.

I think it’s surfactant base ones that foam.

N914 won’t foam in a marolex foamer with the recommended method on the auto forge channel.

Yeah the Marolex foamers leave a lot to be desired. Wasn’t super foamy in the IK Bob used.
