Rinseless Washes - 2022

Agree on the cleaning ability of Ech2o but honestly, most of us have cars not "that" dirty. I'd like to mix some Ech2o w/Absolute or DIY Detail RW

A few people have commented on the bite so to speak of these Rinseless sponges. I agree my gold sponge seems lacking for some of the dirtier parts of the car. I will use microfibers for the lower panels next week i think.

I still haven't really gotten a favorite. :D (Rinseless)

I like how DIY looks when its mixed. It just looks "clean" as opposed to absolute but absolute has the smell lol

I think DIY is more versatile too for all kinds of cleaning tasks. So far anyhow. I have close to half the DIY bottle gone now...16oz is not much when your playing around and getting to know a product.

They really should have had 32oz bottles considering the market they are supposedly targeting.

When i order some new clay, interior scrubber and a gallon of rinseless it will be a toss up that day if i chose DIY or absolute. I really like to try owners pride ecowash too but the gallon is pricey. However the dilution is 1 oz for 4 gallons.

It seems like it would meld better with absolute? Maybe pretreat absolute and rinsless Ech20?

Tried that process with DiY and absolute. Not a fan.

I feel like DiY is a Mckee’s clone. I know it has polymers but just seems so familiar/similar when using.

I always pre-treat with something but i'm still learning basically. I'm sure you have hundreds of rinseless washes under your belt. :)

That good because it's SMART to always do so. Whether using multiple towels or the sponge, doesn't matter because the results are the same

I like the sponge better. Just easier, quicker and less laundry.

For pre-treatment i have all kinds of different chemicals. But for a relatively clean car i would just use the RW.

I ONLY use the mixed up solution as a pre-wash, wouldn't think of using anything else, it's why I always make 3.5 gallons of solution.

I too prefer the sponge and still use grit guards, I just feel better about it

I've pre-treated with everything from labocosmetica's primus and puifica, iron removers, carpro's lift, general APC's on and on.

Acidic cleaners are best suited for salt roads from what i read for instance.

I should explain all these pre-treats are rinsed off.

I think that's where a lot of people get confused.

After rinsing the pre-treat i will usually just jump to the sponge without using the same solution. The car is already good and wet. For a maintenance wash - which i need to do more often - i wouldn't break out any strong cleaners. And i would pre-treat with a slightly stronger dilution of RW just because i can lol

It's all common sense stuff...

So when you pre-treat with those products I'm assuming they get rinsed and THEN the RW is done, just making sure, plus there's noobs reading this

As for noobs..lol i find the detail industry kinda treats consumers like kids. Geez you have to learn how to think on your feet...at the end of the day its just a freakin car..
 
Just used Absolute with the gold sponge on my bonnet. I done at least 5 or 6 passes and a lot of product and its cold. It wasn't the easiest to dry but when i came back it was all flashed off. I then quickly coated the bonnet with carpro's essence+ and started the car up.

Waiting now for an hour for essence+ to set. Then wipe off. Its sub 10 celsius here but i'm just so bored lol

Yeah I definitely noticed this compared to ONR. I now just have a second bucket with water for my rinse as more peace of mind and anyways I use it for rinsing my wheel tools after so it's not like it's a waste of efficiency/time to prep it. I agree it's probably not much of an issue, most of the big stuff does sink but just peace of mind for me.

As for the reply point, maybe like a wash mitt/microfiber doesn't clean well with polymer based? But yeah his reply doesn't clarify which media. I recall watching a video of Absolute VS DIY and one thing was that the Absolute wash didn't really clean the microfiber well. But as we all know the rinse less sponges release it very well.

So if i took a new clean mitt,towel, or sponge and dipped it into the already dirty bucket with solution in it and dirt suspended in the bucket...i shouldnt have a lick of dirt/contaiminants collect on the wash media?? I dont believe that lol
