Not at all. I’m just sayin. If all that suspended dirt doesn’t matter, then why was the 2 bucket method ever implemented?

I dont know, im just an average bear with an average iq lol. The 2 bucket method makes sense to me. Although i still now prefer the single wash media per panel method, never got to worry about cross contamination.

But yvan says supended dirt in bucket doesnt matter...it just plan doesnt make any sense to me

Yeah that was what I was chiming in when DiY first came out. He was screaming zwitterionic (dirt dropping to bottom of bucket) when he was at optimum but then when he came out with DiY he said in an early video it didn’t matter

And my sponge comes just as clean with ONR and absolute (polymer base) as it does surfactant based.

With MF well I’m using multiple and never dunking back in so doesn’t matter how it releases.

For use with sponge I definitely like polymer based or at least the idea it is taking dirt to the bottom.

He has another video where he explained it. His words was that most of the big stuff that is dangerous for the paint goes to the bottom yes, but some slight stuff will remain mixed and it what gives it the color. But in this Facebook reply it is not well explained indeed.

Haven't people been using McKees N914 on this forum in the past and was well regarded and no issues?

Yeah I think everyone loves N914, I do still

Your assuming that Mckee’s and DiY are same? They didn’t have issue with Mckee’s getting “color” from dirt…

No no not that they are 100% the same, but they are like the same type of based product, just DIY also had polymers to in addition. IIRC there was this post on here that reviewed a whole bunch of rinseless and when mixed, the DIY and McKees water looked the same, heavy dirty was at the bottom but the water wasn't clear.

Yes that's a very good thread if you want to get into the characteristics of each product.

Not that i didn't know it before but smell is clearly subjective in these tests. I love the smell of some of the products he's not a fan of. But it's not surprising in the least.

Ah yes that's the one! I tell myself it can't be that bad if McKees have been around with great reviews.

N914 was my main RW the last 2 years. It works great.

I just don't like the smell and price but the biggest reason is i like to try new stuff lol

And to be frank i find that nick guy a tool.

But of the 4 RW's I've tried DIY and N914 are - besides the color - very similar.

edit: I'm not sure where you're getting the idea N914 is not good. It's been a fan favorite around here for a very longtime. Its just not new and flashy..

Hahaha yeah that Nick guy I noticed the same.

Sorry yeah I may not have been clear I don't dislike it or not saying it is bad. I was just saying that it can't be that bad that DIY rinse less and what Yvan says mixes up the water color a bit if McKees is similar in that aspect.

I do feel cleaning power is same but my DIY water was a little dirtier. Still cleaned well.

Maybe do a half and half with the sponges

So I noticed some streaking with Absolute when I was washing the Mustang. I think I used to much Abs. I put 8 ml in a 1000 ml hand pump sprayer then I put 1 ounce (29 ml) in a buck with 2 gallons of water. To much?

IME, too many wipes/passes to flash it off and the smell (mentioned that already) just put it over the top for me to keep using it. there are a few other I prefer and will keep using instead...

Don’t over complicate the pre-soak. Dunk your pump sprayer into the solution you make. Make 3 gallons so you have extra for the pump sprayer.

Try 4ml next time in the pump sprayer maybe? That would be 1:256.

I used absolute a few days ago in cold conditions. It never streaked but i noticed you don't want to use too much product on the panels or it starts to become harder to dry. So yeah that was basically streaking i guess but it flashed away relatively quick. Less is more once again with RW products or they tend to fight you..
