Hello all,
and thank you Mr Mike Phillips for your inspirational videos on detailing.
My name is Mike Gaudin , right now wish I had Mike Phillips detail skills. Background on this into.
My family was out camping at the Cajun RVera in New Iberia Louisiana Halloween weekend 2015. My 1/2 ton was on its last legs pulling our old camper. So I went out this rainy day, not good for camping or car shopping, bought this brand new beautiful stoneblue metallic gmc seirra denali hd. Now realizing this is the first vehicle I cared about the paint on in years! And what happens but I get too close behind an 18 wheeler and smack. I thought my windshield broke . Later I find it was not the windshield but the hood which sounded out. A big rock chip.
Ok so I go to the dealer which said he recommended a paint pen touch up. Well I'm a little over my head here on technique and all so I find autogeek online and now my detailing journey begins. Not only is there an unsightly chip in my paint but upon further inspection swirls and maybe scratches everywhere. Anyone in the Lake Charles , Louisiana area with a shop? I have the pc xp and xmt light swirl kit to address the swirls, are these the proper products for this paint? Suggestions cause I'm about to go to lowes and get some visqueen to cover my carport after cleaning it for a place to work my paint.
