Roof Rack Maintenance

I have a roof rack and was wondering what i can put on it to protect it from the elements? Should i be using Black Again or Black WOW? It doesn't look bad now but i want to put something on it to protect it.... any ideas?
 
I put the same sealant on mine that I use on the rest of the car. Black Wow isn't going to do much of anything if it's metal.
 
A sealant... like WG3.0 or DP poly? They wont stain it? I dont think its metal.
 
If its plastic you can use those protectants, if metal (chrome) or painted I would protect just like paint. I like Optiseal for these areas.
 
Its definatley a hard plastic. Like I said it doesn't look bad but I dont want to take any chances of it fading and looking like you know what. So my best bet to protect it would be what in your opinion.
 
Ultima Tire & Trim Restorer. 303 Aerospace, Opti Bond,DG 531, Megs Ultimate Vinyl Protectant or a good sealant.
