Rotary buffer experience...

Other than finishing the job quicker, is there a performance/results difference between running a rotary at 1250 rpm as opposed to 1500 rpm.
 
I love using my rotary... I actually never used a DA, started with a rotary thanks to my dad and the old old System One package (before X3).

I would say if you were looking for a Flex or a Rotary, why not just get the Flex Rotary?

I don't understand this whole debate of rotary versus DA. I learned to buff cars with a rotary (B&D buffmaster and then air powered polishers) and from what I hear on this site, I would never go with a DA. I mean why waste tons of money on various polishers if the end result is buying a rotary anyway. It's not like it's a graduated process where you HAVE to start with a UDM then move on to a flex DA and finally to a rotary after many years of experience.

Don't be scared of rotaries just be carefull that's all.

I first learned on a Milwauker rotary, but I think the results I saw were from bad pads/products and which steered me away from using one. I am not afraid to take one to a test panel, but I need to get my feet wet a little more stepping my game up from my PC.

I have all three polishers. (Rotary, FLEX, and PC) I've been using the rotary for 18+ years and it's the go to tool for serious corrections and high volume work. That being said, I love my FLEX! Unless you are very skilled with a rotary, swirl free results are hard to achieve. On retail jobs I always follow up with the FLEX or PC to ensure a 100% swirl free finish. I like my PC for waxing and light polishes.

If you’re working for money, than a rotary is a necessity IMO. If you’re a weekend warrior then a FLEX may be your best bet.

How is that being rude? I replied to the post. Why are you trying to make something out of nothing, there is nothing rude about that post.
I guess mrfjsw294 is rude also since he agreed with my post, maybe you should have included him in your post also.

No its just the way you come off to people man, its like you know everything..i know your just trying to help..but man you just come off pretty damn rude sometimes
 
I don't think so, seems like you just want to cause a problem here, no need for that. I do know alot about this and I am here to help anyway I can. What I do think is rude, is that you want to start something like this on a post that was going along just fine till you wanted to say I was being rude after I posted well over a week ago. If you have any other concerns about my posts just pm me and we can discuss it.

Harsh on the guy..why dont you explain to him what creates swirls...im not tryin to start anything man or stir anything up...im just saying to what i have heard form quite a few people..and just bringing it to your attention

I know for a fact scottgt & ASPLALT ROCKET are highly regarded here at autogeek. When ROCKETS speaks he speaks in specifics to that question. There are other people out there scottgt. That take that specific question and elaborates on it a little further. I think that scottgt needs to elaborate a little futher and apologize to ASPHALT ROCKET....

I've tried it again today on my vette. The learning curve has had its up and downs. I was able to stick with the speed set at 1800rpm and that worked good for me. I plan on gradually increasing the speed a little as I get more comfortable with it :cheers:

sorry guys just took it the wrong way.....sorry for pulling the e-brake on the thread and busting a 180.... (240sx days) ....Asphalt means well...my bad :)
