So, it's time to rotate the wheels on Clara's Durango. This is the first time I've had them off. The barrels had been previously sprayed with Permanon which had been doing a good job at protecting them. They were cleaning up easily whenever I washed it.
But, since I was going to be removing them, I figured I'd up the ante and clean, polish and seal them. I just shot a few shots with my iphone4 which aren't that great, but you get the idea anyway.

CLEANING:

First up, I sprayed them with IronX. I then sprayed some IX on a grout sponge and agitated the area. This was sprayed off with my pw. I then gave it a quick wipe down and used TarX on any remaining spots. I used a different grout sponge and agitated those spots until they were gone. I then washed the barrel with a Dawn soap mix and pw'd again. The barrels were then dried thoroughly.

POLISH:

This is exactly the kind of job I got my 3" GG ROP polisher for and it worked like a charm in this case. I used a 4" Buff and Shine yellow pad and M205. That was wiped off well.

SEALING IT IN:

I used OG on a mf applicator pad. I definitely used more product with this method than the foam block and suede mf's, but it would have been difficult to do it in every area like I did with the mf pad. Every visible area on the back of the wheel was coated.

Nice work Richy! I love using OG on wheels. Makes clean up a breeze.

Turned out awesome!
Thanks Ben! I'm hoping to wash it tomorrow morning before work although they're calling for flurries. My wife is out of town for a week so I need to polish out a scuff mark she has in her front fender as well. I want it mint for her return.

Thanks Jim. The PP has been doing a good job so far, but this will be the foundation. I can still top them with PP as well which I know I will end up doing.

That turned out awesome Richy! Makes me want to pull the Regal wheels and coat them.

Great job! If the wife's happy, your happy lol That pheromone did a great job of keeps the wheels in great condition!

Nice work Richy! I love pp for wheels! I'm planning to remove Sky's wheels and OG them as well.

Wheels look great!
Thank you very much. When I'm done on AG, the rest of the car is getting done.

Your wife will think you're nuts, but you will be happier if you do it.

pheromone...

ahahahahhahahahaha...

I read this last night and was laughing my butt off. They need to change their name. Think of the Marketing slogans "Paint so shiny, it'll make you horny" or "Paint so shiny, you'll get laid". Hmm...probably a good thing I don't work in Marketing, LAMOJ (Laughing At My Own Joke)

Every other square inch of Sky is perfect...I bet they're jealous!

Great job! Nice work...........love your write ups.
Thank you very much. I have learned SO much from reading detailed writeups over the years, it's my pleasure to share. It's also a pet peeve of mine when people do a writeup with pics yet refuse to share their product choice or procedure. They claim people copy them. I don't buy it and it's not helpful. It's just an ego feed, period. Sorry for the rant.

Looks good. Also makes me want to pull my wheels off and do this as well.

If you have tire pressure sensors you need to reprogram each sensor to correspond to their position on the car or truck if you rotate.

Wheels look great and a great review also:dblthumb2:

Although its only those of us who really care to that level, it sure is nice to have the backside of wheels look as nice as the front side.

What does that acronym PP stand for (I'm assuming Permanon something)?

Thank you kindly. We're being fooled here by sunny days in the low 40's, but winter is going to strike hard and soon. I'm glad I did it when I did.

Mark, I never had to on my Infiniti, and it says nothing about that in the Durango manual. I'll check into it though.

Thank you. It stands for Permanon Platinum. They have 2 products that are similar: Auto and Platinum. If you google Permanon Review, you will see an in-depth review I did of it where I explain the difference.
