I noticed that while my mas has been in garage for a month or so this winter-the rotors look really dirty. What should be used to clean them safely? Thanks in advance!

soap, water, easy detail brush. anything else will come off when you drive it again. if needed p21s gel or the gentle cleaner of your choice.

Usually the rotors rust when sitting, drive the car around a lil bit and you will clean the rust right off when braking.

Actually that is very normal with moisture in the air and the car seating it will get some surface rest.We have of 200 cars on our lot they all have some form of rust.Drive the car it will come off also if a car sits to long and rust is left on the rotors there is a good chance they will warp also.If you clean them with any type of liquid remember you will have to dry it or else that will cause it too rust even more.Bottom line drive the car

30 mph + brakes being applied= clean rotors lol

I always used to think i was messing mine up every time i washed the car. They would turn like a copper color and i freaked out. Drove the car around the block and like magic, they were pretty again lol

dont forget as the rotors are used, the pads embed material in them that will discolor the rotor... it just happens... shine them up by using them...!

I have actually been bored enough and used a rol loc pad on my rotors just to clean up the edges were the barke pad doesn't touch .It also helps to reduce the chance of the brake pads squeaking.Just a fast story at one point in time the car manufacture i work for had us using a large roloc pad on rotors when they warped too see if that would fix them so they didn't have to warranty them .NO it didn't last long LOL
