It was nice and sunny out today this morning so I broke out the PC and tried again. After taking all the advice I got here I was able to get great results in a fraction of the time. The last time I attempted to get the water marks out of the hood it took 4 times with the XMT#4 and orange pad. This time I taped off as 2'X2' area, used less pressure, and slowed way down. After the first time with #4 and the orange pad it looked just like the area that took four times. Not only did it look great but I used less polish.

Now for the bad luck. As soon as I got done with the first step it started to rain. At least I know what I was doing wrong. Thanks again for all the pointers.

Hey, the rain ain't such bad luck! It's bad luck when you break your backing plate and it goes all over the place.

Your right, I've sure had worse luck.

Congrats on your progress..... bet you can't wait to do the entire vehicle now that you are tunning your skills!!

Nice! Congratulations on your progress :). I'm guessing the beading is just the bare paint?

Yep just bare paint. The rain has stopped so I'm off toy get more done.
