Rubber Gloves

I don't use gloves for detailing. I do have some microfiber gloves and used them once for applying wax to a set of wheels. Made it easy to get in tight spaces. I've used some nitrile gloves when changing oil a few times when they are handy. Latex gloves won't keep your hands warm in the winter. After 30 years on the streets as a firefighter/paramedic I can assure you the warm water is nice when washing in cold weather but the latex gloves actually make your hands feel colder.

I HATE all type of gloves down here in Florida, my hands sweat like crazy and shrivel up and sweat is dripping out of them all over the place in 10-15 minutes. Latex, vinyl, nitrile etc. It doesn't matter, they are like wearing a wetsuit down here.

I tried using nitrile gloves for the first time today. All was going well until I bent my arms, sweat came pouring out. It had been pooling in the gloves and it was just awful. Like you said shriveled up and completely soaked.

Oh well I'll just be careful about what I touch lol.

Yeah I hate gloves for this reason too. I don't know if everyone else's hands don't get as sweaty of I it just doesn't bother them. Even in cool weather these things make my hands sweaty.

Absolutely use rubber gloves. Keeps your hands clean, your hands don't dry out, and keeps oily fingers off the car.

I use Kimberly Clark nitrile gloves.

After using QD's and Spray Waxes and glass cleaner and seeing what it was doing to my poor soft hands I started to use gloves. I started with the thin Target brand latex gloves when using the glass cleaner. I foudn some 6.3mil Nitrile Gloves online and those were the bomb but much more expensive. So I use those when working with the tires, putting my hands in liquid and stuff. Then I found HF had 5 mil Nitrile gloves for a couple bucks more than the thin Target latex. I'm sold. They are thick enough to have some grip and keep your hands dry and cheap enough that I don't mind making it my single source glove.
