The trim on my sunroof is turning White. Is there a permanant solution to making it black. I seen some stuff at walmart, but having second thought about using it.

Possibly some old sealant/wax? Clean nice and good with APC (brush and micro) rinse well, dry, IPA or Eraser and CarPro DLUX or as Evan pointed out Solution Finish (or product alike)

wow this stuff is expensive

goldenlight,
First step, no matter what product you choose, is to clean as Dr Pain pointed out.

If you're talking about Solution Finish in your comment above, I imagine you're reacting to the size of the bottle vs the price, right? I thought the same thing. However, if all you use it on is the trim around the sunroof, you'll barely be able to discern a drop in the liquid level in the bottle. A little goes a looooong way.

Another option is Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant. Ditto here on a little going a long way.

There are reviews on both products on AGO, with excellent before and after photos.

I would avoid anything at Walmart as none of those over the counter product will work long term. Any of the above mentioned products are top quality and despite being more expensive, will work with long lasting results.

to set my expectations. How long do these fancy trim sealants last? 6 months 2 yrs ??
My car sits outside 24/7

If you prep the surface correctly, SF should last 8-12mos.+. On bad trim, I like to use SF wait 24 hours and top with Car Pro Dlux.

DLUX lasts a year for me on black pebble grained trim

Parked outside 24/7
