Rupes iBrid Nano comprehensive review (short neck and long neck)

I've bounced back and forth over whether the long neck version is actually better than the short neck version. Based on nothing more than conjecture, I think the short neck may give the user added control vs the long neck. Can anyone disprove/backup this theory? I've been holding off waiting for the long necks to get back in stock and now I think the short neck may have been the one I needed all along!

I didn't really notice a difference in control between the 2 machines. You won't regret buying the short neck. They both have the same head, one has just a slightly longer reach. I don't think it will make much of a difference unless you're polishing in a tight spot where the body of the machine doesn't clear but the long neck/head will.

This really needs to be a "sticky" for reference. I bought the Long Neck and love it. CarPro has some 2 inch pads that I really, really want. It's a set of six pads. Now someone needs to come out with more coarse sandpaper choices.

I have the short neck and I think it gives more control.

It's like writing with your elbow off the surface, wrist is way better focal point.

The tool is so easily controlled especially at low speed and the rotary tool that it really doesn't make much difference.

I use mine more than any other polisher by far (now doing a whole panel different story).

Great write up and off label use of the shroud, I didnt even know the plastic shroud came off but it was getting in the way when swapping out adapters and makes it much more easier. Kudos to Rupes to making such a cool tool.
