Rupes LHR 12E Duetto or LHR 15ES for Weekend Warrior

Hi guys,
I am in a market for my first polisher(s), and for me one of the greatest parameter is low vibration and comfortable use, since I am very sensitive to that and don't want to walk with vibrating hands for a two days after occasional polishing.

I red that in the (FR)DA market Rupes with Rupes system is the most comfortable, so I decided to get 75mini for smaller areas and now I am, as this thread states, between 15 and 12 for the "main job".

So I wanted to ask all of you, who worked with both 12 and 15 using Rupes pads, if there is a difference in vibration, noise and harshness between these two machines?

if you don't own a traditional style DA then consider the GG6. it has lots of torque/power and with a few different backing plates and pads, can tackle most all areas of the vehicle. otherwise, the flex would be a better option because of the different backing plates (4"-6") and pads (4"-6.5") and the forced rotation which is nice (consistently rotating) if you get annoyed when the machine stops on curved panels. the rupes machines have a fixed backing plate and you cannot change them out to accommodate smaller 4" pads...

Another vote for the GG6.

Its all you'd need IMO.

Hobbyist? Occasional use without hard corrections on the vehicles being maintained? I'd go GG6. I have both the GG6 and the Rupes 15, and while the Rupes is smoother, quieter, and much more powerful for correction due to it's long throw, the GG6 will do everything the Rupes will do if you're using them for weekend maintenance. And at much less cost.

If you're frequently dealing with friends/family cars that look like they've made too many trips through the automatic scratch-o-matic machines (ie: car wash) then I'd say the Rupes. But keep in mind that it does work best with their products and it's definitely an integrated system - but you're looking at a solid $500 to get there. $200 will get you the GG6 and enough pads and product to at least get started.
