Hi All

I'm proud to say I just collected my new Bigfoot 15ES few hours ago. What I noticed is all the pics and videos I encountered on the net show an orange lock button and an orange trigger. My machine has a black lock button, black trigger along with the Duetto type white rubber slots on it. Just curious as to the differences?

Also my included Quarz Gloss Medium Gel Compound states " exclusive NEW formula" on it, what has changed? More or less cut? Added gloss?

I've seen a few rolling changes in the fit and finish of RUPES polishers as well as new and improved formulas.

When I did the side-by-side swirl removal to Bruno's COPO Camaro I used the new and improved Diamond Ultra Fine Cut Polish on both the paint and the graphics.

Here's the link to the full write-up....

COPO Camaro - Flex vs Rupes - Carbon Fiber Hood Extreme Makeover

Look at the bottle of the Diamond Ultra Fine Cut polis and you'll see a round, red sticker on the front label. This was a new formula.

Car came out great too....

:)

Thanks Mike, I love the Rupes system, well thought out and very professionally presented . Colour codes make things fun, simple and taken out the guesswork. I don't think I'm gona mix and match anything third party with the Rupes as they have already done their research and development. So from here on will only use the Rupes polisher with the Rupes pads, polishes and oh even the mf cloths are colour coded, how cool is that!

When you dial up from 5 to 6 does it change speed, mine doesn't, just curious.

I quickly went and checked each speed on mine, there is certainly an audible difference and an rpm change for the greater going from speed 5-6. Its not as pronounced as going from 1-2 or 2-3 or 4-5 but its certainly evident enough.

Or to answer your question in a simple direct way, yes it most certainly increases speed going from 5-6.

Shield Polisher as its called in South Africa, the rest of the world as in Europe and Australia call it a Kestrel DAS 6 DA. Its a 4.5 Amp 500W 6500 opm 8mm orbit DA which I have now converted to a 3.5" Lake Country backing plate to use with 4" pads for spot buffing and tight spaces and use the Rupes for the main work.

I really want a Rupes 15. You are making it harder. Did you get the HD version?

Something I picked up on the rupes, when its powered on at any speed, I can see sparking through the vent, I assume this is normal?

I don't think its the HD, remember I can't buy from AutoGeek as we have a 230volt requirement this part of the world. There shouldn't be any hard choice, get the 15 as the only regret you will have is why didn't you do it sooner. If you value quality, premium products or wanting something that is super smooth, comfortable and powerful this is it. It's been designed with the sole purpose of detailers in mind.

Are you sure you don't work for Rupes. Lol. I am sold just need to save the funds. I have the Flex 3401 now and like it also. I am a tool junkie.

Doesnt look like much of change, other than the black trigger/lock and two adhesive stickers. The rupes sticker on the top and grip adhesive on the trigger... *shrugs*

From what I gather, the lock/trigger grip change, flexible power cord like the Duetto and a noticeable speed difference from 5-6. Subtle differences yes, as Mike pointed out ongoing changes. Fine tuning as a product gets on its life is common.

with those additional changes as well, those are some subtle changes... ;)

I also have a 3401, I retired my PC and got the 15 & mini when you have the funds, imo both are great addition.:buffing:
