Rupes Mini 12 vs Griot's Garage Mini Polisher

The thing that kind of turned me off of the Rupes Mini is the weight. It weighs over 5lbs - almost as much as a PC. To me, then benefit of using a small machine is that it's light. It almost seems the Mini is almost the Duetto with a 3" plate. Why couldn't they just make a Duetto with swappable BPs? Then it might be worth the $$$. The kit could be different size plates.
 
Agree. why does rupes makes polishers for every pad size ? hope LC can make a changeable backing plates for rupes just they did for for the flex.
 
Pardon my noob question, but do you have to upgrade the counterweight or anything when putting a 3 inch backing plate on the GG6? I am new to the polisher realm, but loving it so far.
 
I find that using a mf polishing/compounding pad on my GG 3" works pretty well for my needs, using a great product like Meg's UC helps too!
