Rupes Mini vs. GG 3"

I have never used the Rupes Mini so I cannot comment. I can comment on the GG3 because I USED to have one. It runs very hot (almost too hot to touch), is very loud (louder than any other DA I have used), and has barely enough power to correct.

I donated my GG3" and converted my PC7424XP into a Mini DA. So if it were me...spend the extra cash and go STRAIGHT to the Rupes Mini. I have read nothing BUT great things about it.

Hands down the best 3" electric DA on the market today.

The Rupes 75E is basically a Duetto set up for a 3" backing plate. Should should have good power.

It has amazing power. I feel like it corrects faster than my Rupes 21. Obviously you wouldn't use it on a large flat panel the way you would with a 21, but it is effortless to correct the areas I use it on.

The biggest mistake purchase i ever made. i was to cheap to go for the Rupes and bought the Griot's. last year. its a toy. I just bought the rupes last week. havent tried it out but every one here loves it. I should have listen when they told me the first time i was looking to buy a mini

I did a full size sedan with the Mini 2 step just because I can.:props:

after doing research I'm getting the Rupes mini next week to replace me PC.

Way cool to see you are getting that. Right now, I will be keeping my PC as it has done very well for me when it comes to correcting. Additionally, I have the Flex PE8 to help correcting. HOWEVER, Please let me know what you think about the Rupes Mini. From 1 PC owner to another your input would be greatly appreciated.

Santa Claus may be good to me!!

for sure. I have a massive amount of small stuff to polish, so i'll definitely be putting it through the paces.

I was a PC user for a long time. I had an original 7424 (non xp) and in the past year I've gotten a Rupes 21, Rupes Mini and Flex 3401. There is NO COMPARISON. Both the Rupes and the Flex are a tremendous amount more powerful and correct much faster than the PC.

The GG3 is good for applying wax. I used a PC with a 3" bp and that was okay. The Rupes Mini can correct, couldn't do a correction these days without it. Worked well on a BMW I just did with hard as nails clearcoat. The GG3 would have been useless and a waste of time on that job. Good for wax though

You guys are comparing a tool that costs 3 times the price of the other. That's not a realistic comparison for most of us weekend duffers.

Well that's sad. I had a 3" GG on my wishlist, and I was almost about to pull the trigger on it! Glad I didn't :)

Side note, since I'm still new to detailing, what "entry level" polisher would you recommend that won't break the bank? Sorry for the thread jack...

A cheap and effective DA polisher is the Harbor Freight one. Around $60 and with a few mods is great
