Hey mike or anyone that can give me advise on pad selection for this polisher.
Is it better to stick with rupes for this machine or can i use different brands.
If i go with rupes pads can u give me a better explanation of the different colors and what they are meant for. the explanation is that clear on the site. im so used to lake and country pads. thanks

Any brand pads will work, but I like the Rupes pads. They are tapered so you can see beyond the head of the machine and they just seem to run smoother. The colors for the Rubes pads are from least aggressive to most aggressive:
White
Yellow
Green
Blue
Grey- seems very coarse, but was meant to be used with the Rupes polish.

For Rupes Mini, I use rupes pads exclusively.

I use green/blue for correction (compounding) and white/yellow for polishing (usually I go for the white)

thanks for the responses. can u use the white for applying wax?
And also i made the mistake last year of buying the griots 3 inch polisher that came with 3 3inch pads. can i use these if i need a 3 inch pad.
i will buy the 4 inch rupes pads for when i need a little bigger

Yes, you can apply wax with the white pad. Yes you can use the 3" pads as the backing plate on the Mini is 2 7/8".:props:

Yes on the 3 inch pads and I use a 4" blue buff and shine to apply sealants and waxes
