I've been exchanging texts with Mr. Brown and I can't be more excited to add this to my arsenal. The big thing I'm stuck on is which one to get. THe 21mm or 15mm. :buffing:

Let me just say that the technical and mathematical data he provided me is not only wowing but so informative and makes perfect sense. The amount of power each provides is great.
 
I think I have more 5.5 pads than 6 so that might sway my choice.
 
I am very interested in the LHR15, just waiting to see what develops distribution wise before I purchase.
 
If I get one, it would be the 15 to handle the 5.5" pads.

Does the "15" work that much better with the 5.5" pads to justify switching from the 3401 to the RUPES?
 
I wonder if there is a huge difference between the 15mm and the 21mm throw that these machine have?

It look pretty easy to use too

I was told that between the difference of offset and 1" pad size difference, it comes out to a big difference.

I would like to start a review, however I still don't have my yellow and white pads for the 21e or the polishes. From what I've seen the 15e is where the real value comes in, which I still have no ETA on. My biggest jobs to date are coming up soon and I would love to use them as part of the review. I have a Murcielago, 60's Corvette and '10 Viper all from one owner. They will be getting extensive corrections with complete Gtechniq applications

The Flex 3401 has an 8mm throw according to Flex as does the PC style DA Polishers, so comparatively, the RUPES polishes have a much larger orbit or throw.

The larger the throw, or "orbit", historically if all other factors are kept the same,

Pad
Product
Arm Speed
Downward pressure

Traditionally the larger orbit tools are more aggressive in their correction ability. For example, a "finishing" DA Sander will have a very small orbit while a rough work sander will have a large orbit.

No matter what the orbit size, a person is still going to have to use,

  1. Good abrasive technology
  2. Quality pads
  3. Good technique


The above holds true for any tool...


Also just to start setting the standard straight, the way the RUPES compound presents their company name is with all CAPITAL letters, not all small letters and not starting with a capital letter and then all small letters.

It's RUPES, not Rupes or rupes

Thought I would add that if you want to "look" like you know what you're talking about into the future.

Kind of like when I was first introduced to the Gtechniq brand, the company has a specific way the spell and speak the Gtechniq name, it's

gee-tech-neck


and I was saying G Technique


RUPES is typed out as RUPES and spoken,
