I agree to disagree here. I really don't care which technology I am using as long as I know which it is. How am I supposed to evaluate a test spot without knowing whether I need to break down the abrassives or not? Sure, it may look good and shiney but, am I really finished? A big part of the 105 and 205 hype was the SMAT abrassive system. Now we have the new "Flavor of the Month" and it really dosen't matter anymore? While I agree with Mike on the "it shouldn't matter" what type of abrasives they use, I do feel that there are time where you may want to "short cycle" a SMAT polish (like M205) and this is something you wouldn't normally want to do with a DAT polish. Wow. If only I didn't have a ticket to pay I'd be all over this.
Good tip Thank You.I think you missed the point of my comment....
When using M205 on finicky paint, the type that micro marrs easily, you can clean the pad really well, apply small amount of M205 to the pad and short cycle the polishing to just a pass or two. This way the pad doesn't get loaded up with abraded clear coat residue and should reduce or eliminate micro marring. This is something you can't do with a DAT polish and in this instance one would want to know what they are using.
The above is a trick Kevin Brown came up with.

OUCH I got a tint ticket in MI a few years ago. I had 10 days to remove it and the ticket would not be filed or after 10 days they would pick up the car, remove the tint, return the car and charge me expenses plus $210.00. I removed the tint. The photo ticket in ny is 50 bucks. Had a fair share of those. Got a tint ticket. 90 bucks each window.
