Rupes Vs Menzerna

The more use to this machine I'm getting the more I'm liking it, the more time I spend with it the more I discover something new and appreciate it. 6 passes on my normal 8mm DA with Ultimate Compound yielded 90% correction of swirls in a 30x30cm area. Same area next to it same Compound with the 15ES, 99% correction with just 4 passes! As time goes I'm learning the machine better and acknowleding differences.

I know: Silly ol' me...
(Thinking that this was supposed to be a:
"Menzerna's liquids vs. RUPES' liquids" comparison thread)...

But I don't see the point of my making any lineal
comparisons between two completely different
types of polishing tools.

The OP isn't really comparing tools or liquids, IMHO. He is showing how the Rupes system is better than his cobbled together previous go to approach - which is what 99% of detailers prolly use.

This information is useful, as it shows a proven way to get better results in a simplified fashion.

Finally the voice of reason.

taken from L2D from Moddedmach
"Another thing to consider when comparing the two (in factory unmodified form) is that, while the rupes throw is much larger, the flex's maximum OPM is almost double what the rupes is. So what you lose in "throw" you gain in rotational speed. This fact is why i think the Flex performs just as well with foam as the rupes and also why wool pads get along very well with the Flex (aside from the forced rotation)."

he makes a valid point and I've had the same thought as well for quite some time...

If one had to own two machines, it would be the Rupes and the Flex, they stand out head and shoulders above the competition and they should as they truly innovative, forward thinking, premium brands.

Zubair, do you have the washer installed in your Rupes?

I really liked the performance of Menzerna polishes with my Rupes machine and pads.

I actually prefer meguiar's d300 and m105 over the Zephir, or FG400 on the blue microfiber pad though.

The Yellow pad with m205, answer SF4000 is excellent as well.

I read elsewhere here on AG that FG400 on the Rupes Blue Coarse pad is amazing as is SF4000 on the Rupes Yellow Fine pad. I will try this combo and compare to the Rupes polishes I own. Also I will be purchasing the LC HD Orbital pads from AG hopefully tomorrow for my BigFoot and compare these as well.
