Has anyone taken the screw that holes the pad on, I tried but it we'll not budge.

Thanks for you help

In certain instances it is a pretty tight screw, so may have to take an allen wrench and a pair of vice grip and create yourself a "cheater" allen wrench to get it to budge at first.

Ya, there is a thread on here where people were struggling with it! Try using a ratchet or something with more leverage than an Allen wrench! Mine was the same way, it'll come of with some muscle!

Thanks. With the head down and face plate up I guess it would be turned counterclockwise to take it off and clockwise to tighten.

Yup, lefty loosy and righty tighty! (while looking at the head of the allen bolt holding the backing plate)

I find a screw driver with a socket end on it (the kind where you have interchangeable tips for the screw driver) works really well, protects your knuckles, won't damage the allen wrench, or the machine. Gives just the right leverage, not too much.
