Meguiar's sent out a call for some volunteers to help out taking care of all the cars going up for The Russo & Steel Auction. Luckily I was chosen to help out. (man I love living in So. Cal)
I had a great day with a few other members of Meguiar's Online. I met a lot of car guys and the one of the owners of the Auction. Handed out my card to everyone...... a few days later I was called in my the owner to take care of his special cars!
Sweet!!!!!
I love volunteering, something always good comes from it and it this case a beautiful day of work.
After that shift I was called on by Meg's to volunteer for the night shift due to the dew the night before that made the wipe downs really hard. Of course I said yes and it turned into a good 12 hrs of wiping down millions and millions of dollars worth of cars.
Needless to say I had a great time, met some great people and made some money in the process so all in all volunteer when the opportunity comes up.

Looks like fun!

Meguiar's Gold Class was the product to use on these pieces of art. A great detail spray, one of the best I've used. Comes off smooth and leaves a great shine.

Then it was back to the Benz. I had to watch this baby for 10 hours before it finally went up on the block, it sold for over $300K, and I take some responsibility for that, jk.

Holy hologram batman (photo #19)

That must of been a blast I'm sure, I hope it leads to more future work my friend :)

Great job mate , I bet you had a blast out there !

Wish I was there .

Thanks guys, yes I had a blast, who wouldn't?
I've done a few auction and this one was the coolest yet being on the Back Bay in Newport and the uniqueness of the cars.
I haven't been impressed at a car show in awhile and I was dropping my jaw a lot those couple of days.

"I want a plain engine in this car."
"Okay, we'll put a plane engine in your car."
Hahaha

The cars look great and great work!

Anyone interested in the story of the fighter plane known as the Spitfire and it's Rolls Royce Merlin engine should check out the film "The First of the Few" (1942) directed in/stars Leslie Howard. It's a great (fairly accurate) story of how R.J. Mitchell developed the Spitfire for the Royal Air Force (RAF).

The Spitfires (British) would often go up against the FW 190s (German) in dog fight over Britain and the English Channel. The FW 190 was fuel injected and the pilot didn't have to worry about the carburetor floats causing a lean mixture during harsh flying.

However, the Spitfire could "out handle" and "out turn" the FW 190 and is generally thought of as the better fighter plane of the two.
