The Vinegar is working! But like XLNTShine said… just very slowly!


Is the MAC's stuff an apply and wipe away or does it need to saok or sit for an extended period of time??? This is beginning to look like it may turn into an expensive project.
 
This is starting to get ridiculous! The Vinegar is making a difference, but this is just taking way too long. Its been three days and I havent even gotten past the first wheel!!
This sucks…

Honestly, I thought this was odd since the container clearly shows wheels and other metals being cleaned. From the looks of your wheels they are bare uncoated rims so it is not going to damage them nor do you have to recoat them.

Should of went with the Evaporust or rust dissolver recommended earlier instead of cheaping out and wasting your time on something that "might" work.

Its hard to spend $25+ per container of that stuff. And in the current state they're in Im sure I would have needed more than one container. Im just trying to do it on a budget. But I agree, the time isn't worth the hassle.
 
Im guessing you havent read up on the product? One gallon should be more than enough and the solution can be reused a multitude of times. It can dissolve the rust on your wheels and more. Plus I doubt your wheels have 1/2 lb of rust on them.

EVAPO-RUST has an indefinate shelf life* and can be used over and over until it absolutely stops working. Only water is lost to evaporation. EVAPO-RUST has a tremendous work load. One gallon can remove 1/2 pound of pure dry rust. Rust is about 1/17 the weight of iron by volume, which means its workload is substantial. On average, one gallon de-rusts up to 300 pounds of light to moderately rusted steel

The MAC's product is spray, let sit 30 seconds and hose off! and its only like $4.00
 
Here are typical results of aluminum brighteners.. weaker ones do less, strong ones like MACs does things like this...
