Rusty Breaks Syndrome

Does the Hyde's Serum also protect the rotors from rusting? I just ordered some new rotors and was wondering if theres any "protection" i can give them.

I.E. Can I apply the serum to brand new rotors and forget about them ever rusting?

It will not prevent rusting. Their website gives this

How It Works:

Rustopper is designed to aid in water evaporation while preventing corrosion from forming on brake rotors and braking components without leaving any form of residue on the brake rotor surface. Rustopper does not leave any film, residue or trace of the product on brake rotors as that would be a safety concern. The goal of Rustopper is to stop the flash rust from forming and coating your freshly cleaned/sealed/waxed wheels in orange rust dust.

So once the breaks are activated it will remove any remaining product.

Wonder if you could just spray the rotors with some IPA & get the same effect?

Niblick posted that on page 2. You could also use brake cleaner or even WD40("W"ater "D"isplacement"). The rust comes from the raw unprotected met in contact with moisture that oxidizes the metal. Like when a car gets sand blasted it needs to be primered right away or over night the rust forms. Nothing as of now will prevent rotors from rusting, only temporary prevention. To be OCD you could apply before every rain so no moisture is given time to sit on the rotors.
