Ryobi 5” Dual Action Cutting/Polishing Pads

Hi all, I noticed these at Home Depot today. Does anyone have any experience using these, or have heard anything about them. They are actually the same colors of the Meguiars Polishing and Cutting pads Yellow and Maroon, at a cheaper price.

Maybe the Ryobi pads aren’t well known.

Stay away. I started my paint correction journey with the cordless Ryobi DA polisher and it came with one of each pad. They are made to work with the Ryobi polisher and for anything beyond a very, very light paint correction they are useless. I’d stay away and stick to pads made by companies that specialize in detailing.
 
Eldarado, they are 3pk 5” maroon cutting pads for like $15-$16

I got the 3 pack when I bought the Ryobi 18V cordless DA polisher, online reviews say they will separate from the Velcro backing pretty quickly, but I've used a couple of them without any issues, but as Optimus said, they're not as effective as "good" ones. They'd probably be fine for applying a wax, but who does that anymore.

Ding. Ding. Ding. We have a winner!

I believe the maroon is the most aggressive of the three and it has minimal swirl removal ability. It’s the only Ryobi pad I still have and it’s been relegated to my glass coating prep polish pad. I use P&S Clairty Creme which is pink and since I don’t care about that pad it’s the perfect sacrificial pad to get permanently stained pink.

Boss got us some for the shop, and once washed the velcro peels away.

Garbage.

If the Hex Logic green and blue were available in more sizes, I'd be using those all the time.

I'm actually thinking of having pads made or trying to make them myself.
