Came across a Ryobi 6" and 10" orbital buffer today. Has anyone had one or used one? are they a good buy or should i not buy? opinions please...

I havent used it but it is nothing more than a wax spreader. If you are looking to correct paint then dont even bother with it, but if you dont have a DA already (and dont want to get one) and you dont like applying wax then sure go for it.

As the person above stated. These are nothing but wax on wax off machines. That's about it.

Don't buy. I have used the six inch versions in a previous life :D

It did work to get oxidation out of my dad's old truck coupled with some turtle wax rubbing compound, but did little to nothing about scratches or swirls.

I may be sticking my neck out here but I've owned two Ryobi tools and both were junk.. Inexpensive yes, but in the end I got what I paid for.....Crap!!

I think the general consensus is no...

I have a 10" orbital that I don't use anymore. It just wasn't worth it and it wouldn't take the wax off.

As for Ryobi tools. I can't complain...my skill saw and my mitre saw are both Ryobi and I've been good tools for the past 3 years.

Of course Bobby your a carpenter by hobby, so I'm sure you have some sweet tools that are way better than the Ryobi stuff! lol
