Over the past few weeks, I have been trying to get my car as close to perfection as possible for the car show I entered in Carlisle PA. I have around 50 hours of work invested in the paint alone, working to get every ounce of shine out of the paint. I wound up not using collinite 915 as my LSP, opting for my favorite beauty wax so far- Pinnacle Signature Series II. I put on 2 layers before, and one at the show.
Fortunately, the weather was nice on the 270 mile drive down with the caravan of about 12 other Saabs... but the bugs were out in force. My front bumper, lights, grill, and windshield were absolutely peppered with bug kills. Anyways, a little ONR took care of that, and the rest was easy to clean up.

This thread is basically my thanks to the autogeek community for giving me the information that I learned, which contributed to these results. Thanks to everyone!

The products used at the show:

-Pinnacle Signature Series II
-ONR
-Megs Ultimate QD
-Poorboys Wheel Sealent
-Pinnacle XMT 360 (on chrome grill and all engine bay paint)
-Mothers Chrome Polish (exhaust tip)
-Megs Mag & Aluminum Polish (delivery pipe in engine bay)
-303 protectant on all plastics
-Black Magic Matte tire spray (great stuff)

On to the pictures. Leaving the house friday morning:

Thanks for looking, and all advice is very much welcome!

I was going to go to that show on Sunday but calls for rain Saturday night and possible rain on Sunday sealed the deal. I love that show but hate that the fact that it seems to either rain or threaten to rain every time. Nice job on your Saab. I had an old '91 9000CS that I loved.

It poured saturday evening, so I left that evening after dinner at the saab tent. We had pretty good luck this year, sun on friday, and no rain through the day on saturday.

Thanks for the compliments. Every time I look at the car, I wonder if I could possibly get any more gloss and clarity out of it but I think Im pretty damn close.

Any one have suggestions on what they would do differently if they had the car?
