Sad Day today, had to take all of my detailing chemicals from the garage into the basement. They are calling for a freeze tonight here in central PA. I imagine more of you here in the north had to do the same.

wouldn't hurt to give the liquid products a good shake once every few weeks as well...

Spiney,

Sad indeed. I topped off the tank of my Challenger after adding some Stabil as it will sit

from now until Spring. My waxes I keep year round in the house but I did remove some

other thing from the garage. What will I do for that Sat/ Sun morning therapy????? I have a list of mods for the Challenger but to me that not as fun as detailing!:buffing:Im the MAN

Dave, Chet, it's an annual ritual we all go through. My Z06 isn't sleeping yet but her days are numbered and she too will be in hibernation.

90% of my detailing supplies are already in the basement. I do have a garage so any detailing I do will happen there but it's not the same as being outside on a nice sunny day...

I keep my essentials in an Autogeek detailing bag which makes transporting supplies a lot easier.....:props:

I have all of these products (and more) to find a home for for over the winter because I won't be heating my shop through the night.

I'll be turning this old non working freezer into a hot box of sorts to keep my products in so they don't freeze. My plan is to install 2 incandescent light fixtures to the interior of the freezer and load it up with the "essential chemicals" that I need to have stocked in the shop, then at night when I leave the shop for the evening, I'll plug the hot box cord in to power the light bulbs over night so my stuff doesn't freeze.

This freezer is pretty deep so there will be a good bit of room for product storage in there.

I also bought some pipe insulation to cover all the water pipe for the winter. I plan on making a water blow out device to attach to my compressed air line to blow the water out of the pipes at the end of the day so the water doesn't freeze in the PVC pipes and crack the pipes. My water supply comes through a frost free yard hydrant that is at the rear outside corner of the shop. I used a stainless steel braided flexible shut off hose to connect the shop's water supply lines to the yard hydrant, and installed a hose bib at the opposite end of the shop's water supply line so after using the water on freezing days I can open the hose bib at one end then blast air through the other end to evacuate all the water from the lines.

Once it's all set up, it should only take a few minutes to perform the procedure at the end of each day that I need to use the water.
