As of July 1st 2015 car wash and auto detail shops in CT must collect sales tax on services. Also pay sales tax on all chemicals and supplies.... All good things must come to an end " just saying" . These service was a non taxable service for over 20 years. I read that it was taxable years ago.

Sorry for your increased costs. These type of taxes are why business are leaving the North East in droves and locating in the South East.

:iagree: I would love to say more, however, my rant will only make my blood boil...bottom line...politicians do not know how to run a business....that includes Democrats and Republicans.....they think they know more than business owners and all I can say they are all douchebags! $15 minimum wage for someone flipping burgers.....I know for a fact that kiosks are taking over the ordering system for those people. I am going to shut-up now....I feel your pain!!! I have a business in Southern CA....Land of the Fruits and Nuts!! So I am being taxed for a lot of things too. They gave me a new tax as I am a business owner....It's called a FUTA tax....LUCKY ME!!!

So you have to pay tax on supplies used in your daily business now?

The end user is pay two taxes now is what I am referring too. I always paid tax on supplies in state and out of state purchases. The purpose of my post it may help others here in CT that may not know that this law was passed last minute. Just imagine if someone did not know until they did there quartiles sales tax and found out then. They would be responsible for the tax 😱

Yup that's exactly what happened to me when I started back 10 years ago in Washington state. I was told that I did not need to collect sales tax, but when I filed at the end of the year I in fact was supposed to. I had a years worth of sales tax that I didn't collect, but still had to pay - not fun. At least it was just when I started so sakes were much less.

Thanks for helping keep people informed, in more than just directly detailing related things too :xyxthumbs:
