[Satire]: How to Refrain from Posting

I have noticed there are times when people get caught up in emotion, and just can't help putting in an opinion on something. While I know we all have those (opinions), there are times when it is not beneficial to post them.

So, I am here to show you how you can keep from posting mindless drivel into a thread that holds no particular interest to you aside from causing you to twitch, slightly.

1. First step is to take a breath. It doesn't even have to be deep, we just don't want you to pass out.

2. Notice your surroundings [on the screen that is].
If you look at your screen, there are many way's to avoid posting your unnecessary, unwarranted, or non-beneficial comments.

In Exhibit A below, you will see 4 options.

First is the button in the top left corner of your screen. This is called the "Back" button. It will return you to the page you were reading before you clicked that post you figured you shouldn't read anyway because it was not going to be good for your blood pressure.

Next you will notice a black bar here on AGO that has many options - I have drawn attention to 3.
First, you have the "Home" button. Clicking this will remove you from the "post you aren't going to positively contribute to" and back to the main forum page.
Second, we have the "Forum" button. Clicking this will list the entire forum directory for you, and give you options of other reading material.
Skipping over the blog button (which is an option) we have the "Store" button.
You'd be hard pressed to find greater enjoyment than racking up a wishlist of hundred's of dollars worth of detailing supplies. So, go take a load off and wish!

Now, there are some options on what to do other than posting in a thread that you feel isn't in your (or the forums) best interest. Let's take a quick peek at what not to do.

In Exhibit B below, you will find some of the root causes of getting you into a thread that you just shouldn't have posted in.

Behold, the quote and reply buttons:

If you feel that what you have to say is pure negativity and has no value to the thread other than expressing your disdain for said topic, DO NOT PUSH THESE BUTTONS! They will only lead you to a place that is an avenue for your desire to post even though you know you shouldn't!

However, if you do click one of the buttons highlighted in Exhibit B, it's not too late! You still have time! Refer again to Exhibit A. You can still click those buttons, and it may just save your fingers the typing!

So please - unnecessary posting can be a serious problem to your health! Take these preventative measures now, and you won't end up with the BANNED status later.

[All in good fun and laughs my friends. I was bored].

Great post Dalton! You never fail to amaze me with your creativity!!!

I found it rather refreshing ... and best it came from a member and not the staff !

I was just joking, please don't take my comment seriously if you are referencing it!
I am mad now, and I am going to start bashing you any moment.:bat:
You ready? :bash:

Trust me - if anyone understands sarcasm - I am that guy!

Humor is such a valuable tool. Nicely done DLB.

Ahhhh, this post is soooooooo funny, especially for certain events that have happened in the last few weeks! I say HERE HERE DLB! Thanks for the giggles.

On a side note, DLB your avatar disturbs me.
 Well, you're not the only one.

Sarcasm, it's not just a noun - it can cause detailers to go insane! :D

Agreed; it is hard to create a post that will be read by others with the same intent that was meant by the original poster. I try to avoid sarcastic humour online because of that very reason; many will take it seriously and you can get in a tight spot in a hurry.

However, it is always refreshing to converse with like minded individuals!
