Saying Hello from Air Force One!

Evan,

Really, really cool story to have in your litany of life experiences. Hope you savored every moment.

Congratulations for being part of the team Evan and thank you for sharing pictures from the project.

Tell Renny I say "hi"

While you guys are buffing out that monster of a project I'll have to suffer through buffing out a really cool Chevy Streetrod...

:D

Mike, maybe you'll get to buff out Pick-up Truck One some day.

OK, this is just sickly cool, but I have some questions:

1. How come I don't see any swirl finders?
2. Where is the quality assurance ensuring the appropriate number of section passes are being performed?

Add more folks!!! :)
I have answers!

1. This is not about paint perfection this is all about preservation at this point in time. We are not trying to get every swirl out.
2. I helped with the test spots on both and determined the proper amount of passes speed and pressure. Each member here knows what they need to do to get the job done.

I hope that clears up something's. We only have a week to get it done and to do paint correction on a plane this size would take weeks and that's something none if us have. Would we like to you bet but time is the factor in this.

Thank you everyone and I am glad you all are enjoying everything!

No Chris sorry not the interior but I will get some photos after we are finished.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the photos!

My questions were intended to be rhetorical and playful.

Always hard to tell in a forum setting as the playfulness can get lost but all is good don't worry! :props:

With limited time, did you go for maximum swirl removal or maximum shine? In other words, if I could only make a few passes on a vehicle, I might opt to use M105 to maximize swirl removal, but leave an "OK" finish. Or I might opt to go with M205 to leave a good finish, but not remove as many swirls.

A HUGE shoutout to Sonax and Flex for being sponsors this year

What a great group!

Wow, this is so cool!

Love the pics. The aluminum before and after is spectacular!

The Terrible Towel?

It looks like the guy in the one pic is wearing a flack jacket!

The Cyclo or Dynabrade attachment on a rotary are probably the only other polishers that could handle such a job.

Cool thread!!!

Thats pretty neat. Just curious whats the ballpark for what you charged?

Having that many people on a project for a week, plus renting lifts and buying product.

Theres a lot of costs associated with it.

Yes, since we all paid for it.... just curious

It was all volunteered time by every individual on this team. No one on this team was paid for this project. Everything was out of pocket from flights to hotels to food and rental cars.
This cost me not only cost all of those expenses but a weeks worth of work as well.

So you can say I have some love and passion for what I do. :dblthumb2:

That's cool...

Hopefully you get a nice tax return next year :dblthumb2:

Great documentation Evan!

I can see the reflection blinding many drivers cruising I-5!

Thanx to all involved...

Bill
