Scratch removal

Would a simple cleaner wax be more or less aggressive than Meguires scratchX? I'm assuming it'll be less aggressive. Can I just hit the entire hood with scratch X, and then apply my 476? Ha upon closer inspection I'm now seeing water marks on the entire hood. I'm sure it's from this summer when I washed my truck in the sun once with well water at my dads place. I'm now wanting to tackle the whole hood.

As I said, the scratch is barely even noticeable, even with a fingernail. I really have to focus in order to feel anything at all. Hmm.... Where to go from here. I posted another thread about using a paint cleanser. Hoping to get some advice on that one too.
 
I decided to just leave the scratch. Really don't want to make anything worse. To be honest, I think I'd be more comfortable with a DA, knowing that I wouldn't be wearing any single area think. I put a second coat of Collinite 476 on today and the scratch is even less noticeable. Reflection is unmatched compared to anything I've ever applied, including Megs 21 and ULW.
