Recently bought a 1993 Corvette coupe with a tinted acrylic targa roof. The Targa has many scratches in the clear coat finish on it. What would the factory have used for a sealant on those roof panels? I don't want to use the wrong product and destroy a 30 year old expensive part. Suggestions?

You can use the wax or sealant of your choice. It will not harm it and will help protect it as well. Watch the heavier scratches as if you apply too heavy, some products can dry white and you’ll see it.

Hope this helps, pics of Vette!

If it was me I’d use a cleaner wax/AIO. Reason being is an AIO does well at hiding swirls because of the wax, and with a 30yr. old top I’d want to remove as little of that clearcoat as possible.

Your owners manual is supposed to have instructions on how to care for it. What’s it say?
