Scratched chrome can it be saved?

Is this plastic chrome(fake chrome) or is this real chrome, if it's real metal polish or an combo like meguiars m105/m205 should take it out if it's the fake chrome your basically stuck with the flaw's, and yeah you could use something like meguiars m205 to remove some/brighten the area but you run the risk of making it worse so leave it be

Are you talking about the top of the chrome grill?

I believe that grill assembly is plastic correct? If it is plastic, game over.

The grill on your truck is most likely ABS chrome covered plastic but my suggestion would be to tap the chrome bumper with your hand, and pay attention to the sound and see if the grill makes the same sound if it don't then it's plastic for sure

So if it is plastic or ABS it most likely can't be save?

if they are light surface scratches try a plastic polish. Duragloss and Megs both make good ones.

It's fake. I had the exact same problem with the grill on my Tahoe. I had to buy a replacement. Good Luck!

I've had decent results using oil rich plastic dressings that end up filling the scratches. Might at least try it to hold you over until you can replace the grille.

I thought I read somewhere of someone using meg's plastx on a plastc chrome piece that yielded nice results.
